Just curious!!!!

weylandyutani - 2008-10-10 01:24

How many of you guy,s out there with small collections say 10 and under would swap all that they currently have for one mint favourite grail or whatever box and if so what would it be.???????

retro.addict - 2008-10-10 03:49

I don't exactly have a small collection, but I know I would swap most of my boxes for a working JVC RC-M90 or Conion C-100. Nod Yes

gluecifer - 2008-10-10 06:23

I've got about 14.. with 2 personal grails 'in the post' so not sure if I qualify.

I was thinking this the other day, but I don't think I would as all the radios I've got currently are ones I love and I've avoided getting 'fillers' to pad the collection.

I do eventually want an M-90 and C-100F, but I don't have them as high on my list as a couple of Lasonics (931/975), TOSHIBA RT-S93 and a few others. I know it may not make sense, as the M-90 and 100F are more valuable, but to my personal taste in my collection I'd prefer the others any day of the week given the choice.

But no, I wouldn't trade all of my collection for any one of those, to answer the question.

Rock On.

I would give away some of the lower-interesting boxes, but never all.
But i think the most here owns over 10 boxes... Big Grin

asdexander - 2008-10-10 07:57

Well. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I still havent seen a box i'd change all of mine for. Perhaps one of them fat mono.. blasters, cant remember the model.

redbenjoe - 2008-10-10 08:03

i would trade my entire enskanker collection for that wireless toshiba -S93
or for ANY box. Smile

baby.boomer - 2008-10-10 08:29

Wouldn't do it. No No

I would much rather have a nice assortment of shapes and sizes, vintages and colors, features and sound quality, than any single boombox, no matter how graily it is. Variety is the spice of life!

ford93 - 2008-10-10 08:50

I would trade for the Toshiba RT-S913 BomBeat 40. Nod Yes

me too.

joe.cool - 2008-10-10 08:55

At last count, my collection is 80+, so I'm sure that if the right grail came along...like any of the large Panasonics that look more like home stereos (model numbers elude me at the moment) I'd be willing to let "a few" go Big Grin. But, never all, cuz like baby boomer sez, variety is the spice of life!

JVC RC-550. The fattest mono ever! Smile

After reading Roman's post, I'd agree with him now - I would give away the least interesting of the bunch. Giving away the GF-9000 and 777 would be very hard indeed, even if I was getting an M90 in return. Nod Yes

That's the one. Yum yum, eyecandy. Would certainly trade it for my best piece/s.

Check with DM4U. I think he had 50 or 60 at last count.

sinister - 2008-10-10 12:39

i would trade a few for some that i want to get back, but never all for one.

thafuzz - 2008-10-10 13:54

Never all for one. I'd rather wait patiently til I aquire my the others grails- and have them all.

Ah, yes - the Toshiba BomBeat 40...

Cool

Currently, I have 11 boxes in my collection (listed from most important to least important):

I'd get rid of ALL the boxes in red for a minty fresh BomBeat 40 (definitely) or JVC RC-M90 (maybe)! Nod Yes Still, in some ways, it's not a fair trade 'cause the Toshiba is MUCH rarer than the JVC.

Besides, throughout the course of a year, almost all of those boxes can be found on eBay and bought again.

Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud That cracked me up baby boomer!
I have one nice 550 and find it a great box to collect, it is the "fattest mono ever"! Nod Yes

I would trade a few of my lesser boxes but I really like the variety of boxes I have now and couldn't bear trading most of them for any one box.
