petey.awol - 2008-10-08 13:19

Since January I have come across a much needed to be worked on GF-777, A working Lasonic 975 (Getting all replacment parts for whatever is missing real soon), a Sony CF-580 (Gonna get rid of it because I dont think it even powers up, but looks real good. Just dont have the time or patience to fix it up.) A Prosonic PQR-9850, Panasonic RX-300 (Sold to a member who desperately wanted one.) A Panasonic RX-52 for free off some old lady in NJ. And now this Motherf'er of all Motherf'ers....ladies and gentlemen...the Conion C-100F. (Found on local Craiglist of some hipster chick in Brooklyn. She didnt really know how rare these bastards are. Price?? $100.)

Brilliant work Petey! Fantastic score, she'll be right at home amongst the rest of your classics. Does everything work ok? Looks nice and clean.

Congratulations brother.

Rock On.

You cant tell, but its actually dirty. Havent cleaned it up yet. No dings at all on the crome. The left aentena is missing, tape door is gone, decks dont work. Also, when i have it plugged in...i go to turn the power off and the radio still plays...is it because the tape is stuck in play. The heads on the bottom deck is obviously stuck in play mode. Also i think the tape 2 deck is playing also. I put on tape 2 and theres sound goign thru the speakers. liek an empty tape playing..but the reels aint moving..thoughts?

Score!

You are on fire Petey!!!!

transamguy1977 - 2008-10-08 20:37

Good score and yes it wont power off because the heads are engaged.
New belts top and bottom and you should be in good shape

petey.awol - 2008-10-08 23:01

Belts will solve all these issues?? Its weird how rubber bands will solve such a problemo. So belt questions is coming next. What size and where do i get them. This bastardo is loud as balls. So happy i gotthis thing.

jvc.floyd - 2008-10-09 05:21

damn dude thats a killer find there especially in the wild ,nothing like that feeling hell you got some serious boxes man.

petey.awol - 2008-10-09 12:30

IS there a repair manual floating around. Would love to grab a copy. I just DL a owners manual. I am looking for something that shows me the insides.

jvc.floyd - 2008-10-09 12:47

petey its alot of work you have to tear almost the whole box down to replace the belts.

petey.awol - 2008-10-09 12:55

I figured that. I figure if i had the manual, I can at least give it to the person who will eventually repair it.

kid.sensation - 2008-10-09 13:38

Congrats!!That's a nice find especially in the wild, agreed with floyd Wink

Great score! Cool

Too bad you're gonna have to pay about $300.00 for the cassette door! Laugh Out Loud

$400.00 for a Conion C100F still ain't bad! Wink

smokinendo - 2008-10-14 06:47

WHOA ! ! Nice Petey... You are on Fire Bro $100 aint nothing for a Conion. I agree that a door will be hard to find and/or expensive but hey ! You got one and that's what really matters ! No one makes a huge fuss over the mesmerizing good looks of the cassette door LOL It's all about the THUMPING sound that these babies deliver. Killer grab there for sure ! I too need a few belts for my C100 but I'm unsure of where to get them and which ones I need ?

Good luck with it and if you figure out where to get the belts and which ones we need LMK too
