found a Sony at local fleamarket

drmz - 2008-09-29 15:15

I found this beautiful CFS-45L

It´s in really good condition with almost no scratches at all. I just had to clean the volume-poti and the head.
Okay, it´s a small one and the soundquality is not the best compared to the bigger radios but I like the design especially the tuner section.

Thank you for your comments. =]

I think I just was lucky because I arrived there pretty late and I usually don´t see much boomboxes at our fleamarkets. In berlin the fleamarkets are always sundays from 8AM till 6PM and its hard to show up early when partying saturday night.
Oh and I paid 15 Euros.

@ramon: Yes, it´s growing and I have to care it´s not growing too fast Wink

@drmz: I was in Berlin when the wall fell down.
Does the Radiomuseum exist this time? It was in the easter part of Berlin in the Television-Tower. Very nice to see Nod Yes

drmz - 2008-09-30 02:38

Do you mean "Deutsches Rundfunkmuseum"?
It was in West-Berlin at International Congress Centrum where the "Funkturm" and "Funkausstellung-Messe" is located. On their website they tell it´s closed.
The television tower is in East-Berlin at Alexanderplatz but I can´t remember there was any museum in. There´s just a rotating restaurant in the observation deck.

viennasound - 2008-09-30 04:19

Ok,sorry.
Then the museum was in the west.
I think this at the easttower was an short special.
But it´s a pitty, if the museum is closed... Frown

Yes, it´s a shame. The same story with vitra design museum. They had some good exhibitions here, but it was closed after 3 years.

Berlin is a poor city now with lots of debts. We had this big bank scandal in 2001 with Klaus-Rüdiger Landowsky as the main actor. The bank is owned by berlin and some big politicians played their own game speculating on real propertys. When all went bad the city had to pay 2.000.000.000 Euros to save the bank and guess where they took the money from?
Cutting it down on museums, theatres, youth and culture projects.

History repeating...

isolator42 - 2008-09-30 06:36

Plenty of woe going on for all banks now, I guess...

That's a good looking old Sony. I'll bet it has a nice tone to it - those quality old one's often do.

I remember, we had such an Sony in the coffeshop - in the PHILIPS Service Center!! Laugh Out Loud

Yes I like it a little more every day.
Yesterday I tried to clean it. Beside some dust on the upper side (maybe from the fleamarket) it was sooo clean. Nothing to do for me. Even the inside of the tape was really clean. I guess this radio must have been the treasure of some old lady.

viennasound - 2008-10-01 03:25

Yes, this could be true!
The story of my helix was near to this.
I got it from an old man.
His son bought it long ago.
After using an very short time,he became an own residence. The box stored his father.
Now he needed the place, the son don´t took it back, so it was for sale.
For a few lousy euros i got it, nearly new! Cool

That´s the storys of real life... Razz
