The box it came in, was the best packaging Ive ever seen! Not only was it bullet proof, it was 'neat'! It was an absolute work of art! I almost hated to tear into it... but, knowing the beautiful box awaiting inside, I had at it.
Layer after layer of projective cardboard, bubble wrap, and plastic wrap. Until finally, what seems like 30 minutes later.
I have a stunning, as in.. MINTY Clairtone 7978!
A bit of static, a bit slow on cassette too, but beautiful!
I think this may have been one of those in the wild boxes that has never been shipped before now. It just has that solid, no rattle 'feel' to it. I cant explain it, but after owning 60+ boxes, it just 'feels' like a fresh, in the wild find.
My MINTY Sharp GF9494-X from James was this way too, it had never been used much, or shipped before I got it, and it 'felt' different somehow. Ha! Im crazy maybe...
Also, Ive seen a lot of Asian labels in my lifetime, but never French!

This is one of the most beautiful boxes I have ever seen in person!
The weight of the switches and dials is seriously HEAVY! Totally weighted with a quality feel.
I thought this might feel like a big empty black and chrome box (Lasonic), but not at all. A real solid feel.
Nice white woofers too... excellent chrome.
I remember saying when I bought it that I thought I may have overpaid for it. I dont feel that way anymore!!!
Strange too, in that it is listed as 115V/230V. Ive never seen this level before?

Yup, it's a great box...and the seller is great also. I've met him before, and i have been at his house. He has TONS of vintage electronics in his basement...and he really does pack well

They are Identical on the insides Cosmetics On the front are the only differences.
Heck My 7978 had Rising stamped on the magnets.
