geoffhartwell - 2009-02-18 06:12

simple fact henry, i dont like it, i did have one but i gave it away, its the ugly ducking of the family (imho) Smile

viennasound - 2009-02-18 08:28

Pretty family. Smile
My favourite is the middle one.

I donĀ“t know why the big one is only with a single deck. At this monster would be enough place for a second one. Confused

But all 3 are pretty clean boxes. Nod Yes

redbenjoe - 2009-02-18 08:33

and the little M50 looks so nice up there Smile

litfan - 2009-02-18 08:56

Come on geoff. The m80, is the un-sung, jvc hero. Great sounding box.

geoffhartwell - 2009-02-18 09:05

yes rich the m80 has a great sound, i just dont like the way it looks, personel taste thats all. i did have a fully working one and i robbed one of the ariel posts for my m70 then parted the rest of it out, so my m80 is all over the world Laugh Out Loud

litfan - 2009-02-18 09:09

Square enough Wink.

The M50 has logic deck ? It's about the same size of the M70 ?.
I agree with you about the M80 look ... a bit rare. I definitely love the M70 design and M90 of course..

The photo is cool , the perspective makes it look Mummy is the big player in the house Big Grin.

redbenjoe - 2009-02-18 17:57

interesting point there, rick --
about the aesthetics//sound relationship --

if that jvc M50 or the sort of similar sanyo MX720 did not produce the sounds we like --they may not look so beautiful Smile

henrytai - 2009-02-18 18:22

it's ture that the m50 70 & 90 are the best looking family member LOL
but i just thinking why jvc didn't paint the M70 in gray just like the m50 & m90

vladi123456 - 2009-02-18 20:11

Oh I didn't mean it sounded like an M90 Ira, I've never heard an M90. The M50 sounds nice and clean but it's not close to the M70 even. Much less bass and dynamic range, but it's great for it's size still. I just meant by squinting at it I can pretend it's an M90.

Which kind of answers Vladi's question too, but I'd like to hear Geoff's opinion.

Rock On.

It sure does. Ya, M50 kind of looks like mini-M90 - and seems to be very close in size to M70 - overall - very nice!!

ghettoboom777 - 2009-02-19 07:42

Hi-Nice tower of JVC's!
I love my M70's I have a JW and a C!
I'm looking into getting a M50 by this summer.
The M90 may be a little later in the year but hopefully this year I'll get one.
Very nice that you have all 3!
Have a great weekend-GB. Nod Yes

jvc.floyd - 2009-02-19 07:53

the m90 blows the other two away in every catagory.

jovie - 2009-02-19 15:26

The M50 is ENORMOUSLY LOUD but has a noticeable deficit in bass quantity to match its highs.Though high quality, its bass is not present enough on balance even with the bass pot set to max.Even so,its looks are 2 die 4!The M50 and M90 are very similar in style.I doubt I'll ever hear an M90 unless I sell a lot of other boxes to afford one.

The M70 is a nice sounding box if you keep the loudness button on until about 50% volume. This is where the M70 really begins to come into its own!At this point its impressive bass catches up with its highs. An M70 is totally amazing if you like to listen a higher volumes. However, there are other boxes I much more prefer if I am in a more "quiet" mood.My all around favorite 1-piece JVC taking everything into account is the smaller 656 C II.Though not as powerful as an M70/90,it sounds nice and balanced at any volume level and with its pots set to flat. The CII version of the 656 has similar color and style to the M50 and M90.It's a beautiful box!

transamguy1977 - 2009-02-21 17:51

Nice family pics!!!
All three quality boxes.
The 50 is a great baby 90 isn't it??

71spud - 2009-02-21 19:51

Someday I will post my JVC family picture... I think I owe you guys one. Nod Yes
