Who likes going to the markets

aza - 2009-04-10 02:31

and looking for Boomboxes ?
I know i do Big Grin

I got there early and the seller hadn't taken it out of the box yet, lucky for me !
The Pioneer emblem on the box caught my eye and at first i thought 'component stereo ??', but as i was reading the info on the box i started to realise what it was !
I have to say i got a little excited, only on the inside but Smile, i didnt want the seller to think i was too keen.

Thanks for having a look !!

redbenjoe - 2009-04-10 07:21

it must have been difficult to act 'not to keen' Smile

geoffhartwell - 2009-04-10 07:39

Wow!! Bloody amazing AZA!!
That's gotta be a massive rarity in it's original box.

Congratulations, marvellous early Easter present.

Rock On.

viennasound - 2009-04-10 08:56

Yeah, Boom Boom Robot in box.
Highscore! Cool
Congrats to this rare find.

Does this box have Discolite?
Or what means Discosound? Confused

billpc55 - 2009-04-10 09:59

no these do not have disco lite.
in the case of these the disco button makes this sound loud enough to rock a disco.

this is one of the loudest booboxes you will ever hear.
i had two i sold one. both of mine had the controls rotted off the boombox end were missing he eject button.
they are pretty rare.
these are extremely loud.

you now have the best example i have seen of this amazing boombox.

Thanks guys. I was definately happy to get this, you need a find like this every now and then to keep you excited about the possabilities of what may be found.

Geoff hopefully you will have better luck soon too.

Bill i also have a red one that, like yours, is missing the touch pad, and the cassette drive doesn't work. but i use the line-in and it is so loud that this is the one i most often use when we have party's or bbq's outside.

redbenjoe - 2009-04-10 19:15

AZA and bill --
when you guys say LOUD --
do you mean loud like the big conion -or like the sharp GF777 series --?

or it the robo in a much bigger league than those ?

billpc55 - 2009-04-10 19:27

there is not tons of deep bass, but mine is a lot louder than a pc55. in fact it comes close to the big sonys i have but nowhere close to the bass of one of those.
it is louder than a 777.

redbenjoe - 2009-04-10 19:43

ok --thanks, bill -

had to ask -- because most of us might never hear a robo Smile

billpc55 - 2009-04-10 21:11

i have had two of them now. i like them but i am not going to bother restoring mine. needs belt and someone to fix the rubber buttons. the all work but the rubber is gone from them.
they are pretty neat for sure. i am thinking of maybe getting rid of mine.
