Hey everybody,
Here I present my latest find from the wild. A Lasonic TRC-931 AKA Black Betty.
My craigslist ads have been working well recently and this is proof that it's worth the few seconds it takes to post an ad.
This one was grimy and sitting in a garage for a while and I had my second thoughts when I went and checked it out, but it shined up nice and plays great, I really didnt think I'd like the "black boxes" but this one makes me a beleiver. It has really good bass response and the case doesn't rattle.
I put it in a three way smack down with my Rising 20/20 and Prosonic 99962 and it held its own to my suprise. The Rising beat it in the bass department but the EQ on the 931 made for better highs. At higher volumes the Rising bass distorted earlier than the Lasonic.
The 931 just barley edges the Prosonic in bass but the highs are crisper on the Prosonic. But overall the 931 is louder than the prosonic.

So, I'm pretty sure it's a 3rd variant of this model but not positive. Anyone know for sure?

It's a nice box...cheaply made but looks cool, and sounds ok...and the good thing is...you FOUND it and picked it up in the wild...nuff respect for that

Here's a pic of the contenders of the three way slam jam I held. I was a little weary stacking my Rising up top. The three were on a table and stacked over 8' high.
I like to call this 3 the hard way.
