New home for boxes

el.rojo.grande - 2009-04-26 22:09

Doing some spring cleaning and decided to put up some shelves for a proper display of my boxes. I also post on a thrifting site, so I arranged some thrift store items with my boxes for this shot. While too bulky to collect, I am a fan of 1960s console stereos as seen here also. Found for $2.99.

Nice to see you're still around, Big Red. Cool

Sin, is that one of those ElectroHarmonix consoles?

I'm still looking for a nice one of those Hitachi models.

Mine came from Vancouver, Canada, for USD $25 from ebay. This type was my first boombox in high school so it was a great find last year.

I've always loved the look of those modern furniture styles of the late50s/early '60s.That piece looks in very good shape. To be truthful I've always really loved anything from that period.

The black (Fisher?) is one I've had my eye on for some time. It's a very unusual design.Really nice collection you have there!

I fell in love with the sound from my GrandMama's 1960s Console Stereo I was a liltle scrap back then but, fondly recall the deep rich bass and warm sounds from it. I'd like to have one just for sentimental reasons. Glad to see you posting again Big Red Cool

Part of my interest in vinyl and boxes comes from a console that I got from a great aunt when I was a kid. Along with the console came a boatload of some of the most unusual records, most of which are still in my collection, which also prompted some of my unusual music tastes which survive to this day. We also had only one window AC unit so in the summertime I would sleep on the floor by the AC and the console's music.
