Where do you have 'em?

johnnygto - 2008-12-26 15:10

I keep most of mine in my basement(unfinished) on shelves... I worry about humidity and have thought of putting silica gel packets in the cassette doors as well as battery comp's.

Let me kniw what you all think...

Thanks
Johnny

You quite possibly might be my new idol!!! Smile

I hate to box 'em all away, but I don't want them to ruin either... any suggestions on safe keeping them?

If you have a humid basement a dehumidifier is a great idea Big Grin

I have my favorite BBX's on a huge wall at my computer store. Customers of all ages love 'em.

Although, I get kids in sometimes that I swear have never seen a cassette deck.

Kid: What's that?

Me: It's a cassette deck.

Kid: A what? What's a cassette? Where's the dock for my ipod?

I get a lot of that. Makes me feel REALLY old.

I have two boxes at my "work station" at the house. I run a line-in into the Rising for music on the computer. The rest are either in my closet or over at my parents' house.

Not a bad idea, don't know if it that humid.. I'll buy a wall mount meter/gauge to find out.. should be a neat test Smile

not sure about factory sealed NIB stuff --

but am sure that keeping anything inside a once opened cardboard box -- will attract moisture --produce mildew --and stink forever Frown Smile

All of mine are in a spare bedroom. But I only have 15, so it's not a big deal. I listen to a new box every week, so they are all in use Smile

Mine are in my climate controlled BASSment. My cream of the crop boxes are now on a lit shelf in the soon to be finished den area. Smile

Most are in the basement, and most of the rest are in a self-storage room a couple of miles away.

A few are scattered around the house - living room, family room, bedroom - either because they're my current favorites, and I want them somewhere where I can look at them and listen to them, or because they're "in transition," which is a polite way of saying I haven't figured out where to put them yet. Most recent arrivals end up that way, at least for a while. They're also the ones that bother my wife the most... that "everywhere I go, I trip over one of your radios" kind of bothered.

I Agree

I have/had a small "NIB" boombox, but i didn't see the point of keeping it in the original packaging so i took the boombox out and threw away the box and packaging Big Grin

Currently all wrapped, boxed and packaged in a spare room awaiting a house move. Then the fun can really start as my new office has a wall plenty big enough to dedicate to bbx display. Will have to resist the urge to put all my work calls on mute and start twiddling with buttons though! Smile

kid.sensation - 2008-12-27 11:33

living on my own alone i do have nearly all on display around the flat.

only my A2 is @ a friends home and one project-box is stored away.

My entire collection is actually in the basement of my new house and each and every bbx is displayed on solid racks. Every morning when i go downstairs it puts a smile on my face Big Grin

My Wife's Sanyo is on the Kitchen counter, Pana 5050 in my Bathroom window. The rest are shoulder to shoulder atop my garage counter, daisy chained into one another to blast my ipod's tunes. They ALL get played almost daily. I just hate dusty woofers you know Wink

i dont have the mass quantity like some members but i have all 8 of mine on shelves around the wall above my bed, it wasnt planned or nothing but i soon discovered how great it is to wake up and see them all around the wall above my bed, if been late for work before because i have layed staring at them and lost track of time lol Smile

isolator42 - 2008-12-30 05:10

I have approx 10 in use around the house & the others all stuffed into cupboard-space.

I need to bag 'em up to stop them getting dusty. When I get around to doing the full 3D collection photoshoot I'll do that. Roll on the summer...
