trc911 - 2009-06-29 11:58

Just scored 2 **MINT** Sears and Roebuck LXI Series Hi Fi speakers for a whopping $12 from goodwill Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin The tards in the back had no clue what they had Laugh Out Loud That's a steal for those of us who have stereo towers. My sony equipment will make these bad boys come to life. Smile

and the D8443-paid $14 for her and I have to say that it is an awesome sounding machin-WHEN properly tuned and adjusted Wink Only prob with her is that the tape deck doesn't work but I keep a prop tape in there for the effect, oh, and the whitwe out in the tape selector and reset butto but those are easy to fix Wink

Thanks I Agree I love my local goodwill stores, they never dissapoint me! Although it is wierd when I get into it with another customer for a piece of electronic equipment Red Face Then I offer them money AND the store money but I walk out the champion Cool

Now you're talkin' Old Skool wit' the Speakers dude!!! I remember my first set of speakers were a set of Pioneer's just like those. I blew them while DJ'ing a party back in the day!!! Guess what song did it: PLANET ROCK by the Soul Sonic Force!!!

That Magnavox Box is kickin'!!! You can get the tape deck fixed easy. I'm sure some of the Cats on the Board can refer you to some Techs who can hook you up!!!

Good Luck with them!!!

I've always liked the D8443,its a slight pain to figure out *how* to best input sound to it but once you do its very loud and very clean sounding.

Those Sears speakers look like rebranding of Fisher speakers. The big black dust cap is a dead give away.

Be sure to pair those Fishers with a nice pair of smaller floor standers which have an emphasis on flat sound reproduction as those Fishers don't have much in the form of accurate treble and mid reproduction but good heavens do they shake the room effectively. Find some good companion speakers for them and you'll have a balanced system that also doubles as a plaster removing system should you require. Smile
