I just found a LOT full of old boxes and radios, and cassette recorders and there are more than pictured-the seller is cleaning out her grandfathers house and is just digging these up with shovels that's how many there are!!! I offered her $60 and she said SURE! and now I am taking $100 with me to see what I can get Smile

No offence but you paid far too much.

$60-that's a lot to pay for all these, TRC-911.

Do you know the model numbers of each one?

gagaeyes - 2009-07-08 03:40

that''s not too bad, trc...those 8-track tape boomboxes are really becoming collectable

tpr - 2009-07-08 04:10

the white 8track,-left foreground ,is the "loudmouth 2",very rare, went away for $100 a while ago...

at least that one is rare... Wink

also the ge is a nice one:

clean clean clean - they will look more profitable when cleaned up and photo'd better

it only takes one or two to make your money back and for you to have for free the one's you like Wink

becarefull of what money you are offering as she will milk you for it - start to say that "this is missing a bit or that is a bit too dirty, but you will take the lot" but for a lower price

see if there is any thing else that you can buy to sell there as well

you could always say that you can take stuff for her to the dump as part payment Nod Yes

see if there's any BMX 's for me please Wink

cheers B

That's what I was thinking, sell the 8 track players and buy more bbxs, Oh, and about the bmx bikes, I doubt she would have any because she's 41 and it was her grandfathers house Laugh Out Loud

Dude you hit the motherlode! That is a supreme score for 60$. Remember, most of the cats here are into boomboxes and walkmans, but I like old radios of ANY kind! Especially those 8 track cubes Smile

I think if you clean those up, you might have some nice working specimens! A lot of monoboxes too, the predecessor to the boombox! Congrats on the find! Smile

you know, Phil_vr might be interested in the GPX if you decide to sell it. He was looking for a slim Panny or similar box. He said he had a red Panny, a RX-F series one but he doesn't remember the model number...Anyone remember the long red Panasonic? Mid 80's?

kballenger53 - 2009-07-08 09:35

TRC-911, I'm with Bendycat on this one. All those Boxes need is a little TLC!!! I like the one in the very first picture, behind the mini box on the right hand side. That would make a good lookin' silver Box, whatever it is!!!

I dig the style of it!!! Good luck with them, I hope they all work!!!
