Thanks to Beatbox, I present.....

The Condor!

Just a couple of pics, might add some more later.

Despite it's small(ish) dimensions (I'd say small-mid size, 6" woofers) it really packs an impressive punch and the clarity is exceptional, both on radio and on the cassette deck which is a joy to operate with a nice smooth positive action on the keys, superb tape speed stability and an 'as new' torquey feel to the motor/drive assembly.
A real 'anytime' box, easy to carry, pretty looks, attention grabbing sound, not impractically big in fact one of those boxes you can't help but keep coming back to to try another tape out in !
Makes me smile every time I look at it, which is proof enough for me that it's money well spent.
Rest assured, Beatbox, it's gone to a good home!

COOL!!! I love the looks of that box. I kind of reminds me of the Panasonic RX-5085.

I like it kinda reminds me of of a taller 8989

glad things worked out between you and beatbox his packing is something else unlike mine.

That's one gorgeous looking box, 2steppa! Eek Nod Yes

I would be incredibly proud if I owned that! Does it have proper line-in so you can connect a CD player? What about separate bass & treble? Smile

2steppa - 2008-07-30 04:21

Nah, DIN unfortunately but it works well.

It's got 'tone' rather than bass/treble, but the unit has a fair quota of bass anyway and works fine and loud without boosting the bass any further, as it's a well balanced sound to start with. The tone is really just for treble which I turn flat out anyway as I like to bring out the highs in the music. All in all, a winner in my opinion Cool

Well that's pretty much what I meant, a line-in system where you don't have to put the selector in the tape postion and press record or anything daft like that. I actually prefer DIN, in my opinion the socket looks more professional than two red and white RCA sockets. The DIN works brilliantly on my TRK-8200. Glad to hear your new box sounds good too. Cool

You do have to do 'anything daft like that', it hasn't got a 'line-in' function per se, just the good old 'wear out the tape mech while listening to external sources' feature..
