Mission 2 MARS @ flea and more...

viennasound - 2008-12-08 07:12

This was an heavy weekend at the flea.
...heavy to carry all home. Big Grin

So take a short look at the highscores.

Frist one is this big MARS JR-600.
Was the most expensive one of this weekend with 15euros.
But absolute worth:

Interesting:
The VUmeters both turn from left to right.

It also owns a titlesearching system (9x)

The stereo expander is very powerful:

For TPR:

Next one was this SIEMENS Music Champ RM961:

Not perfect condition, but cheap.
Maybe i will sell it any time Roll Eyes

Label:

Next one is this pretty old TELEFUNKEN bajazzo CR8000 stereo:

With the widerange stereo it has unbelieveable power! Razz

The illuminated scale looks very nice at night: Wink

The antenna is XXL! Eek

At the bottom:

Then....hello!
Ronny, a friend of me was selling there too.
And he had something for me - special price included.
For lousy 3euros i became this like new AUDIOTON Karaoke machine: Cool

Of course, it´s a "cheap" box, but i love it

The spectro analyzer is faked.
Here works an ordinary LED row:

Never seen an 4band-equalizer before.
Only 3 or 5band.
And look at the little LCD clock:

Backside:

Thanks to ronny for this pretty blacky!

The little SANYO for the same price came with me Big Grin :

Little box, great label:

At least a little stylish PHILIPS.
Not a boombox, but free.
After cleaning all the dust:

And now all together!
Looking like MARS attaks.
The boomboomrobot! Big Grin

Thanks for looking at the today´s story! Wink

redbenjoe - 2008-12-08 15:18

thats ALL you got ?? Smile

j/k --what a terrific weekend.

billpc55 - 2008-12-08 15:52

mars box looks fantastic. it is also amazing how telefunken manages to get such a amazing sound from smaller radios. i mean they are not supremely loud, but the fidelity for what they are is simply outstanding. i dont get how they can be so good sounding. must be something to do with the amp circuitry. they just sound great.

skippy1969 - 2008-12-08 16:10

WoW!!! I really like the Mars and the little Siemens. The Siemens looks a lot like a Sharp QT series. Great finds. Nod Yes

viennasound - 2008-12-09 10:24

Yes, the MARS is nice looking.
The tape needs a check up, the speed is too low.
I think the belts are dead. Roll Eyes

To the sound:
I think the smaller TELEFUNKEN sound as good (or better)! This oldy is very high quality. Not so spectacular as the MARS, but powerful inside! Nod Yes
And Ronny was very happy today to see his AUDIOTON box perfect cleaned up in my collection. Razz

bredgeo - 2008-12-09 12:58

All in one go...???? WOW!!!!!

Not in France nor in Ireland..... Frown

isolator42 - 2008-12-12 01:57

That Mars boombox for €15?
That's bargain of the week, for sure.
It looks like an aka for a GE or some other brand, but it's a good 'un.

& I don't know why, but that Telefunken appeals. It has a certain eastern-block dignity about it. The way all the buttons are the same across the top... I just like it Smile

viennasound - 2008-12-12 05:01

TPR just posted it in an other thread.
The MARS compares to TATUNG.
It´s very solid made.
The knobs are of metal, not only silver plastic! Nod Yes
I hope i can repair the tapedeck easyly.

About the TELEFUNKEN:
Right, it looks a littlebit communistic! Big Grin
But the sound is perfect.
I think it was the time, when the companies don´t care much about looking, but much about the quality inside... Roll Eyes

devoltoni - 2008-12-12 05:39

Hi Roman, my opinion is that design of telefunken is very German, not communistic.

German design commonly is very unique and in this case that box is look very compact.

I think that manufacturers from former communistic countries was simply copy that design - some of them with license - for producing own boxes in many variants, in many years after that Telefunken was no longer in production.
That's what I think.

It just reminded me of the simple, no nonsense designs of some eastern-block cars & stuff, were the speaker grille treatment on it would be considered design flair... Smile

viennasound - 2008-12-12 09:34

I Agree
It was not a negative statement!
I like those eastern design like isolator.

When comparing boxes with cars, the modern egg-blasters would be a Ford KA or New Beetle! Roll Eyes
The Telefunken a LADA or Wartburg! Big Grin
Rustical outside but a good soul!

And here a pic for Toni.
The second NATIONAL-PANASONIC i found today at flea for 1euro!
