Does anyone have a Blaukton P-2000 Boombox?

kvmoore - 2008-02-19 14:14

Has anyone heard of, or does anyone own a Blukton Model No.P-2000 Boombox? If so, how does it sound it terms of quality. I've seen a picture of one online it is huge (with 8" woofers). It looks like a 3 piece. So, I'm just curious as to how it sounds.

Basically, the same box but much better lookin'. Wink

If the build quality is anything like the Blaukton Turbo-1, it's a piece of crap. Just a big, empty, black box.

Supposedly as loud as a Conion C-1OOf... I'll take the one from last years auction, no matter the build quality. Cool

It's a huge black one piece box and typical quality of this type of box (Low) but I can't tell you what it sounds like. The power supply broke loose during shipping and took out the amp board so It's good for display but nothing else. I would only buy another one if it's local and I got a good deal.

Hah man!! Yeah. That sounds like a case similar to the Super Jumbo J-1. If it's not carefully handled during shipping, it'll break inside. I will say this though, the Trident version looks WAAAYYYY much better than the Blukton. I wouldn't mind having the Trident myself. I bet it's built better too. Sorry your's didn't work out for you.

Well, to tell you the truth, I found this listing on ebay but I think I'm going to pass. Anyone else wants to jump in?

Thanks. I kinda suspected that. That's why I didn't want to jump the gun just because I see a pretty looking box. As we all know, there are several boxes out there that look better than they actually perform. I like the looks of that Trident P-2000 though!!!

BTW, nice Conion you have in your avatar.

masterblaster84 - 2008-02-19 18:23

I will agree that the Trident P-2000 looks better and I believe it does Metal Tape which the Blaunkton doesn't. Quality wise I expect they are exactly the same since they are really twins for the most part.

kvmoore - 2008-02-19 20:50

Yeah. I did notice the Blaunkton was missing some of the features on the Trident by looking at the fewer switches in the middle section.

skippy1969 - 2008-03-01 06:45

I,ve got the Trident P2000,but its missing the cassette decks. Frown It works great as a very loud radio or MP3 player dock! Wink [URL=[URL=http://imageshack.us]

Skippy just an FYI but I may decide to part out my Blaunkton P-2000. The power supply relocation program (Shipping) may have removed the chance mine will ever function again. If I do decide to part it out I'll post it in the For Sale section.

skippy1969 - 2008-03-01 10:55

Cool man, thanks for the heads up. I'll keep watching for it,maybe you could nudge me a P.M. when you do list it so I don't miss it. Then maybe I can get mine up and running 100% . Thanks man! Big Grin

masterblaster84 - 2008-03-01 11:01

No problem Skippy, as long as I can remember. The memory doesn't work as well as it used to. Wink

masterblaster84 - 2008-03-01 12:35

Skippy, I have to part out my P-2000 right now but when I'm finished I'll try to remember what we were talking about?

Damn this aging! The 40's really seem to be kicking in the memory fading, fat accumulating, skin wrinkling, eye sight weakening and hair graying issues. Wink
