thanks royal - great collection

what is the smaller silver box on the top row of the first picture
and also on that picture -- what are the 2 boxes with the big black square grills - on the floor center - behind the tiny JVC set ?

arkay - 2007-09-09 07:59

Great collection there! You're definitely keeping all the high-quality boxes - a lot of the very best models there (at least from the ones I recognize; a couple I don't know, but they look good, too! Big Grin ).

Are the ten or so that didn't make it into the picture lesser ones you'll get rid of, or also ones of this general quality? Either way, it is quite some collection!

I envy you the two boxes with the keyboard across the bottom; I've been looking for one of those for a while, but haven't seen a single one. ]YET! Never say never... Big Grin]

Thanks for sharing the pics!

I never realized how tiny that JVC walkman box is, looks like a toy.

ronster - 2007-09-11 15:14

Excellent collection Royal - great to see all the boxes together like that. Think the pics work so well because there isnt any other clutter just lots of blasters!

I had an old pic of your collection saved on my computer at work when I first started to get interested in boomboxes - quite a few different models in that photo and you had the big JVC monobox - do you still have that one? Always wanted one of these since seeing a great pic of John Peel with one a while back...

isolator42 - 2007-09-12 06:29

Lovely, lovely, lovely. Now there's a collection of headline b-boxes & no mistake. Very comprehensive - I'm hard-pushed to see any glaring omissions at all...

One query - the little one at the far top right looks a bit ordinary in this company - any story behind it? Personal grail, etc? Smile

daiwa - 2007-09-12 07:07

R o y a l,
Do you live in a gymnasium?
What a spread of beauties!
And your avatar box just stands out in the crowd!

This Paul, is the small, but rather meaty Toshiba RT-S782. It's a one piece (another model made to look like a three-piece for some reason), and it sounds extremely good for it's size. I have one, and Royal has a couple of them... Smile

manleytronix - 2007-09-12 10:30
