Bredgeo's update

bredgeo - 2011-04-13 13:25

Hey... It has been quite a while since an up-date. Not much has changed, but there are a few ones... The main one added is the SK 909:

I hope that is candy for all your eyes!

Bredgeo, you've still got a Helluva arsenal there My Friend!!!  Especially with those Sharp's and Jvc's!!!  You can blow up Lybia and run Kaddafi out of town with those!!!!  Do they still work?  You know, now that the weather is getting nicer, it's time to take them out for a walk!!!  If you know what I mean..........

That just about covered every box on my wish list, awesome collection bredego.

easthelp - 2011-06-21 19:57

That's a FINE collection you got there, Bredgeo! I guess that '777 IS the "z" version of that GF-Series model just about every guy and his uncle is hungry for (i.e., the Sharp GF-777z)? Uhh, I know I've been laughed at for being "shortwave crazy" (as one Stereo2Go member put it a while ago), but ... does the first National Panasonic model you show above tune in two shortwave bands -- the 'box two steps below that amazing JVC RC-M90? Does that National Panasonic come with a fine-tuning switch for enhanced shortwave (and maybe enhanced medium-wave or AM tuning)? And what model is that Sanyo at the bottom of the display? Does it come with shortwave?

NOW... That 'are' a lot of questions!!!!!!

I will have to get back to you on that, I am going to work! Talk to you this afternoon for me ( maybe morning for you)!

bredgeo - 2011-06-22 07:52

Now.... To be honest with you i do not use the radio on my Bboxes (only the cassette). And, being that most of my Bboxes are in France, I could/cannot look to tell you.

I really have no answers to you question right now... Even the Sanyo, I cannot remember..... I just have the and'love' them.......

ghettoman - 2011-06-22 14:30

Hey i seemed to have missed this thread and your pics,"bi jesus" now thats a bloody good collection of boxes there brian, bloody nice collection mate "aye so it is"

bison - 2011-06-22 14:42

Well, at least you replied quickly and graciously enough, Bredgeo. You've STILL got a great set of 'boxes (mostly amid the charming French, no less). And, yes, I have in mind all the boomboxes and jamboxes I've seen in your photos posted in the past. In new condition (that is, when those audio units were new back in the Eighties), they'd probably have fetched over ten thousand AMERICAN dollars. Again, good going.

bredgeo - 2011-06-22 21:46

Thanks guys!!!!!!!

EastHelp,

One thing I can say is that back in the days i used to only get Bboxes that had LW... For most of the "Good" radio stations (at least in France) were on LW -I think it was the same for the rest of Europe, FM was just kinda like starting.

This said, all the Bboxes I got in Europe (for my actual collection) have LW, MW and/or AM/FM... And the ones I got from the Americas, US/can, have the FM with SW.

Well.... Time to got to work!

See yas!

litfan - 2011-06-24 05:56

I have to say it myself, that`s an impressive collection man. One thing i notice, is the lack of toshiba`s. Those stickers would have been history if they were mine .

Hey!!!! How ya doin'????

Yeah, the stickers!!! I have (in the past) got a few saying the same type of thing about those.... Ehhhh, they have been on those bboxes for so long, I figure they are part of it!!!!!

Toshiba.... Yes, I could have some. But, it just worked out that... Nope, not for the time being. Maybe one day...

ghettoman - 2011-06-24 13:06

hey brian, why dont you do a davebush special with your sharp tv box ? take the old crt tv screen out and fit an lcd tv with built in freeview in it  bringing the old skool into the millenium, old box with a modern twist..

litfan - 2011-06-24 13:59

Talking about stickers. I rememeber, taking the sticker of an m80. It had been on so long, it left an imprint on the plastic. No matter how much i polished it, it wouldn`t come out. I still see the "synthesizer" mark on the door.
