R.Raheems Fixed 970..

ghettoman - 2011-10-13 05:08

Just fixed this for old Raheem,I thought it was curtains for this poor thing..Everything was wrong with it,Deck was dead and jammed,Needed to clean off the old melted Belts (very messy) then new belts,Had to put a new Motor in because the old one was running slow and overheating,One channel was Almost Dead,Replaced a capacitor on the main Board to get the channel back,Top had Alot of paint wear, needed a dust of Spray In Champagne Gold,Speaker Grills were filthy,Re-Spray Black and gave it a good scrub..what do you think ? it has nice sound and the speakers bounce nicely, not in the same league as the crummy crown 5100..this is quality..Hope you like and hope old reno did'nt mind..

cheers fella's..

its a bit of both mate, known r.r for along time through this site,i do repair some boxes but not that much these days, the crown was a live or die project,he knew it could have been unrepairable,it needed alot of stuff doing to it,i almost gave up on it myself but i just perciviered with it and just got lucky i guess..box fixing can be a pain in the butt and i dont often enjoy it like i used to,it can cause alot of lost sleep, puts you in a bad mood and gives you alot of grey hairs lol

Looking good, I wish my 950 was in that condition, insted its a cracked misbeahiving nicotine stained pest of a box, I have to keep unjamming it and the radio only seems to want to do FM still it could be worse, it could still have the foul stench it had on arrival.

driptip - 2012-01-17 21:11

it looks very good man.
