Thanks for the congratulations

mr.vu - 2012-03-27 06:27

Hitachi is the first time I have, I have found it in a closed electronic waste.

I bought and repair costs 150,000 VND(about 7USD)
I celebrate the TRK box 720, after recovery, radio cassette and was not able to Line again. only one line is longer
unexpectedly , sound is amazing, might be my best sounding box.

I use it or listen to Rock every night , very honest. no noise

so I really like the sound of the Hitachiboombox

The Hitachi 3D7, ladies & gentlemen

That first pic in the first post on this topic is my pic of my actual 3D7 that I've owned from new in the 80s.

When compared to other boomers (like the sharp GF on the left below the typewriter in a later pic), the bass from the extra woofer is impressive & it blasts good & loud.

Only downside is no 'proper' aux-in.

However, it's the Original 3D & those side handles are ace

radio.raheem - 2012-03-27 23:20

agree with iso.....had one yrs ago....one of the warmer sounding 3d's not overly loud but nice

Not overly loud? why-I-outta...

Sure, when compared to the biggest it can't keep up, but this thing is a mid-size & was certainly priced as a mid-size.

mr.vu - 2012-03-28 06:09

thank isolator42 and radio raheem  gave me more information on Hitachi 3d

radio raheem  I see your avatar is a 3d super woodfer,
you is a fan of the 3d?

isolator42 - 2012-03-28 06:33

radio Raheems avatar is a Sharp GF1000 (or similar), however my avatar is of the centre woofer of a Hitachi 3D7

...you could say I'm a fan, as I currently own 19 different Hitachi 3Ds

Oh, the Hitachi 19 3D box? great.

Hitachi TRK you 720 Hitachi 19 not listed? if there is please show me a picture of NHE

isolator42 - 2012-03-28 08:08

The Hitachi TRK7620 is the 3D7

The earliest Hitachi 3Ds had a 4 digit "TRKxxxx" model number, but most had a "TRK-3Dxx" model number. Any letters after the model number were for the designated market (E = Europe, etc.)

Therefore TRK7620E is a european spec 3D7

northerner - 2012-03-28 12:19

Hi! I'm brand new to collecting and had to join just so I can say how good the hitachi 7620 is...just got one that is without a single mark on it, boxed, manual, stickers...the lot, and it sounds fab. This started me off 4 weeks ago and I already have 5 boxes! Wife not pleased

Another man with taste

Don't worry about the other half: just find somewhere to put them out of her way & buy her something whenever you buy another big boomer. he smaller ones you can sneak in

i have had a few 3d's in my time..3d7..3d80 3d88 one i traded with Iso and a few i have forgotten about

isolator42 - 2012-03-29 00:15

A CX-W900, eh?

This has 'JVC Hyper Bass'-like sound, with deep rich bass from the internally mounted ASW (acoustic super woofer), but when you crank the volume you *have* to back off the bass; it just can't take it.

If you're expecting Panny Cobra-top sound, you might be disappointed, but it's still pretty good.

I'm after the CX-W950 which is the same but with a digital tuner.

btw, the boomer you traded with me was a CX-200, a Hitachi 3D with a CD & a single deck (CD 3Ds were prefixed "CX" & as ever, a "W" means twin deck)

When you got it, it was in truly shocking condition, but now it daily plays CD & tapes for my 4 year old son, all working perfectly (apart from the centre woofer, which works, but cerackes at all but quiet volumes).

This boomer & some other Hitachi 3Ds were designed by s2g member H_designer. See this post:

I'm tempted by that Panasonic cobratop, Tim. How much do you think shipping would be? Bung me a PM, cheers.

About the CX-200 woofer. i had the whole thing right apart to deep clean it.

Here's the post:

No re-foaming needed, it's got too much cr4p inside, in the magnet/coil area.

You can feel it rubbing if you gently move the driver by hand. I've tried & tried but it won't all come out. Looking at how dirty it was when you got the boomer, it's no surprise...

mr.vu - 2012-03-29 05:55

magic photo, I see you you are imposing my 3d in glass cabinets. It was glorious years boombox.
