Not so special box, but I like it...:)

michiel - 2013-07-22 11:15

Here my latest find, got it yesterday evening after doing the 909 belts. Man, I cant stop getting new boxes! HELP!

Its an Hitachi TRK-9100E. I bought it (cheap) because of the nice looks, but it doesn't sound bad at all. Its has a really good size to sound ratio. Its small and goes loud. No deep bass, but what to expect... A nice outdoor box.

Just replaced the belts in record time of 15 minutes Hope you like the pics...

Once you start collecting them you simply cant stop.

The only limit is space !

lav.loo - 2013-07-22 11:52

Had a couple of these myself Michiel, great all round box with nice looks and easy on the wallet, congrats

michiel - 2013-07-22 12:07

Thanks guys and girl!  Space is the limit, so true... I stack them on the wall of my living room. Very efficient way to store them, but only possible if you living on your own I guess...

northerner - 2013-07-22 15:04

Living on your own or you have two living rooms and a very nice wife

Thats even better!

isolator42 - 2013-07-23 06:13

This was seen as quite a posh boomer in it's day.

Someone I know 'borrowed' one of these off his Dad & turned up with it at the park. We had a sound-off against my 3D7 & by the looks & size of it, I thought the 3D7 would lose.

However, you're right about the bass - when both were pushed hard, my 3D7 had more clout. Happy days...

northerner - 2013-07-23 06:43

haha...go 3D7 go!!...

michiel - 2013-07-23 07:03

Dont be to proud beating this box. It isn't difficult at all

northerner - 2013-07-23 07:22

Hey if you're a 3D you have to grab a victory where you can and make the most of it lol

Indeed, we're not in big heavy hitter territory here. Most of the kid's boomers 'round our way were mid-size at the biggest.

The 3D7 is only mid-size dimensions itself...

Michiel.. Please help.....

Good day to all audio fans! But I greet my self with a grief...

my Hitachi TRK-9100W is malfunctioning, it volumes up and drastically goes low automatically, the repair was beyond my control so I decided to bring my patient to a trusted technician, yet, bad news came too. It appears that the MIXER HAS ISSUES ON THE FIRST I.F. then the RESISTORS AND CAPACITORS AROUND IT HAD RUSTED.

Now, I am here for requesting help to those people that has A CIRCUIT DIAGRAM OF HITACHI TRK-9100W OR PLEASE KINDLY TAKE A PICTURE OF YOUR OWN HITACHI TRK-9100W MIXER PART AND KINDLY PLEASE POST IT HERE OR ATTACH IT ON MY MAIL. yatcojeffrey@yahoo.com

All those who will help are very much welcome! Thank you in advance!

P.S. Who would like to see this baby go to the Graveyard, I think no one does.

So please, help this box come back to life.

michiel - 2014-03-25 03:18

Sad to hear something went wrong with your Hitachi. Sadly I don't have any diagrams or service manual for the box. Only thing I did with mine was replacinging the belts.

The only time I had the same symptoms was with a M70. This was due to a dirty power switch, resulting in a voltage drop after a couple of seconds.

I quess you already cleaned the record bar on the amp board? A dirty record bar leads often to al kind of strange issues.

Hope you get it fixed. It's a nice small box.

jeffrey.yatco - 2014-03-25 06:35

Thanks for the reply! But, can you atleast, take a pic or few of the mixer part of your hitachi, I know it is a bit much but it will be a big help for me to fix this gem, please sir, thank you for your kindness, I just want this box to be alive again,

i shouldn't worry about the collecting obsession. The guy that repairs the odd boombox of mine tells me of a customer of his that collects Teasmaids! He's got like 40 of them!! F**kin Teasmaids!

northerner - 2014-03-25 12:04

Teasmaids?!...can't get much more rock and roll than that!!!

seb968 - 2014-03-25 12:07

I always wanted a Goblin Teasmaid!

tster - 2014-03-25 12:16

Did some one say Tea? Milk no sugar please...

I picked up one of these recently as seen in this thread:

http://REPLACEMENT ERROR/topic/carboot-today

I almost binned it as the fm radio doesnt work nor tape. Look cool tho, good find matey

hisrudeness - 2014-03-25 13:41

Teasmaids dudes! 40 of them!...... Felt loads better after that.

michiel - 2014-03-25 15:43

Dudes, I didn't even know what Teasmaids are!  That's so British lol, a machine that makes tea  Having 40 of them is a little sick lol, but normal people think the same about my boxes. First thing they always ask; How many do you have... I always say about 20, but I dont count them really lol

What do you exactly mean by the mixer part? Do I have to open the box for it? Hope not, because I have too many boxes open at the mo!

Jeffrey means that he needs a picture of the radio tuner board. The mixer chip is part of the radio's if stage.  This does indeed mean you would have to open the box up.

Jeffrey, I hope you're not in a hurry. I have so many projects at the moment. Working on three boxes at the same time at the moment. Thanks for the explanation Seb!
