Here is a Sanyo M9982 heading my way. More pics when it gets here!  So what do you guys know about this model? I never seen one of these before. It has 2 storage decks on the back.

i have always been intrigued by this unit precisely because of the storage deck for tapes. you can't go wrong with a Sanyo, so well done BM!

Nice

Thanks guys, it arrived SUPER QUICK! Here it is bumping my very own drum n bass mix tape. Tested it out and it works OK, but for some reason the power light, or "operation" light as it says, stays on and it I can't get it to record voice. Other than that, this thing really sounds MONSTROUS for it's size!

Definitely a nice looking machine...congrats

The sound is absolutely amazing. I did a sound test with the ipod and the FM transmitter and compared it to my TDK 3 speaker and it surprisingly blew away the TDK 3 fold!

Awesome looking boombox.  Anyone know what I might expect to pay for the same exact model (U.S. dollars)?  There's one listed on ebay.

It all depends on the condition and how much your actually willing to pay. There's a high demand for these by collectors and putting exact value on these is almost impossible in todays market. I was lucky to get mine for $70 usd in a decent nick. If you get one you should also get the service manual in case. In most cases the belts need changing and needs deoxit cleaning unless stated otherwise, but still. My M9982 is working beautifully now.
