Japan arrivals. WARNING: Contains eggs.

litfan - 2013-07-29 09:17

These 2 arrived from japan this morning. I expected them being smashed, but, they were proffesionally packed, by japamart, the yahoo japan auction proxy. If anyone, is having doubts about buying stuff from yahoo japan, you have nothing to worry about. Mr RR, would approve of the sony cfd900, as, it has a sub in the back, with a rubber gasket. The 2 parcels, arrived together. They were binded together. That driver, must have been strong, coz, i had to drag the parcels into the room. The sony, especially, is very heavy indeed.

This, is what the back of the sony looks like.

Very nice Litfan, the Sony also has very interesting woofers.

Cheers retro. I got these 2 for peanuts. The rx-dt701, is fully working, and, hasn`t got a dent to be seen. I was thinking earlier. When the cobra top dt707 came out, in 91/92?, i was in my late 20`s, and, the 707, was a revelation. It even got praise from hi-fi magazines. Just like, the m90, was as far as the cassette boombox could be took. Companies, were finding way`s, to do the same with the 1-piece cd box. Just a pity, most of the fully laden machines, were available in japan only.

Ey up lad. You can`t argue, £13 for the panasonic, £20 for the sony. It`s the shipping that kills it. You know yourself lad, these, knock the old boxes for 6 for sound. Only problem with the sub-woofer on the sony is, you have to keep it low, otherwise, the cd jumps like mad. I`d love to know, what`s special about these dodecahorn speakers. The sony, has got titanium centre caps. You are right though, 707, is still king.

love the panasonic,i had a soft spot for panasonics in the 90s as a teenager buying my own boxes-and if that were available in the uk id have properly had that
