A good day yesterday

stereo.mad - 2013-11-17 01:45

Got these jems off my mate yesterday
The fisher has been on my want list for a long time and been worth the wait, very nice hifi sound to it and it weighs a ton!!!
The hitachi's also are very heavy and sound very good.... Killer vu's!
The little sanyo packs a punch or a mini,it's a very pretty little box

samovar - 2013-11-17 02:33

wonders! the fisher has always intrigued me, but the hitachi is so unique! and you got two! the miniSanyo is... well, it's a miniSanyo, 'nuff said! it's ball set and game as usual, Lee!

brutus442 - 2013-11-17 02:35

jt.techno - 2013-11-17 14:18

You must have 1000's of boxes now ... every day you come up trumps with multiple new (and rare) boxes ... loving the display shelving ... great finds once again ... sorted! :-)

nak.d - 2013-11-17 14:46

Love that Fisher, great score

driptip - 2013-11-17 15:16

nice score there stereo mad, big fisher wow, but the hitachi nice.

retro.addict - 2013-11-18 15:26

The Fisher is awesome. Although I'm not one for modding boxes, I'd be tempted to paint the speaker cabinets silver to match the main unit, but leave well alone the grey bits with the graphics, where the tweeters are.

The red Sanyo slimline box is very tasty! I love minis.

stereo.mad - 2013-11-18 16:08

I may be tempted to paint the front of the speakers silver, I think it's a great idea.... Any others agree or shall I just leave it alone?

I think Fisher got it right with the similar looking PH-480.

I have a Fisher mini that is almost the same as this red Sanyo youve just got, certainly the switch layout.

Was Fisher part of Sanyo??

liking the sound of that fella,

michiel - 2013-11-19 07:30

Would be interesting to see how it looks with silver speaker fronts! Agree that the speakers look a little bit dark compared to the main body. But if it still looks mint I would leave it as it is!

I have to say that the front grills would be better left black IMHO. However, painting the speakers white or silver behind them with matte black dustcaps would be the BOMB!

I did a quick image of what it would look like..I'm no Picasso so no critics

Yes; I think Fisher were part of Sanyo. I can well beleave that some models differed only in the badge on the front of the machine!
