deech - 2013-11-10 08:39

Today it was a Sunny day here in the city where i live !!

Woke up early and didnt know how to reach the usual

place i hang out on Sundays as the Marathon was

taking place (Which btw was won by Hillari Kopgei a Kenyan runner)

as most of the roads were closed .

I did find some time though to pay my respects to the athletes and then

went straight away to were bbox heaven is as

i knew i would regret it if i wouldnt go!

Did manage to make my way over there from

the National highway and did come back with those 2 beautiful

radio cassette players !

aestereo - 2013-11-10 09:16

deech,

You are lucky to be living where you are!

The Crown is one of the most elegant machines ever seen, in my eyes.

Only wish, it has a matching sound.

radio.raheem - 2013-11-10 09:30

Top scores deech....oftern wondered what that crown is like

samovar - 2013-11-10 09:45

I've always loved the Crown CSC300, with a look in between certain Akai/Panasonic and -- upside down -- the Pioneer SK-909. It's a great box, wonderful find deech!

retro - 2013-11-10 09:55

Nice find deech, how does the crown sound?

deech - 2013-11-10 10:00

That Crown is indeed unique thanks for the kind comments !!

Didnt have the time to listen to it though tbh

as the right channel was dead and took it apart really quick for the

usual bath and clean !

SK-909? That is exactly Crown CSC350L

Picture from recallsharp

but the CSC300 looks far far better.

--------------

mine is the 350 version --assuming they have the identical sound -

which imho is very much as great as it looks

deech - 2013-11-10 11:07

The 350 version looks nice too

it seem like it has plus the eq feature .

Now if you d ask my opinion i d say

the 300 model looks cooler !

Here is an old

vintage ad from crown including the 350 model.

He does it again....well done Deech!!!

seb968 - 2013-11-10 11:42

Two great finds. The Crown is very intriguing!

deech - 2013-11-16 08:58

Today i have tried to get the Crown csc300 back together which

proved to be so tricky.

My main problem now is that it doesnt power up.

This bbox is quite complicated and now tbh i m gutted with

it as i tried and did my best but as result i get no power.

When i did get it back together it powered up once and when

i hit the power button again it was dead.

Tried and change some connections but nothing again.

Now i may sound silly but as you can see in the pics

there are 2 spreakers which are not connected with the unit.

are those for cosmetic reasons or do they have a purpose?

Are they passive radiators?

Please tech guys give me some advise as i dlike to see her work again..

Deech is doing too much.

If he goes out of his home, he will come back with some super rare, never seen before grails. That too for peanuts!
