advice please

andyboombox - 2009-09-11 04:13

hey folks
im just waiting for my late grandparents house to sell.when it does i stand to recieve about £8000.
i will be after the following:
sanyo big ben
jvc m90
tecsonic j1 super jumbo.
but my question is, how easy are the above models to come by in the uk, i mean, did we brits recieve many m90s or big bens?or did we get them all on import from abroard?
its not a p##s take this post, seriously, when the house does sell, and we hope its in next few months, i will be looking for at least a couple of these monster machines. i also wouldnt mind a gf767/777.
for the mean while ill keep plodding on looking out for more sharp gf's and the other less expensive ones that i can still pick up.
cheers
andy

With jeoff on this one, sanyo bigben..i`ve never seen for sale on evilbay..
M90s do exsist but rare and expensive,i saw one in a shop in 1983,when i was picking my new GF9500 for my birthday, theywere expensive then, and even more expensive now, ewen just sold his to rimmer for £*** Edit: (price hidden),needed attention,it was just the belts, but his was a fine example, one of the nicest i`ve ever seen..
Super jumbo J1,there is`nt any in uk,they were never sold here,i have one but i had to buy mine from germany,i wanted one for 20 years since seeing radio raheems in the movie do the right thing..you could also buy one from usa,but you gotta be prepared to pay..
777s are common as muck in uk,but for some reason they still hold the money...
Either way though andy, its looking pretty grim..to buy any of these you gonna need deep pockets mate...very deep pockets...
i hate this hobby sometimes..
and often i feel like selling up myself, prices are pretty stupid these days...takes the fun out of collecting..

I would save that money Smile

Mee too,i would`nt waste it on boxes..i`m sure you could invest it on something better, that would bring you a decent return,£8,000 is alot of cash..
shame that no one one needed 8 grand to put towards buying another project, like a house or something, try and buy into it and maybe you could double your money

Or, an upgrade in vehicle or something along those lines. I would not blow it on boxes either, and you would probably overpay knowing you had that much to spend anyways.

thanks for the advice, gang.
you all speak great stuff- gettoman, i heed all your advice.
maybee ill just hold out for a gf777 for my slowly growing sharp gf collection. and the rest, well, ill just put away.
ill let you know what i get in due course, once the house is sold. oh, and im gonna buy a cheap digital camera, so i can upload all my collection pics onto here. youll love em.
andy.

Big Grin I Agree

An easy pitfall when the money is burning a hole in your wallet, although I think if I came into a large amount of money I'd find the lure of EBAY boxes pretty hard to resist! Razz

yeah.......i would defo buy the top boxes i could get....im having trouble resisting buying them all now and ive only been collecting a couple of months.....the things that money can buy is terrible...................in a nutshell, id buy the lot but im stupid...LOL
