Looking for boomboxes for sale

steven.gerstein - 2010-05-21 09:22

Hi anyone know where I can find boomboxes?

davebush - 2010-05-21 09:31

where are you in the world and how much cash have you got

transwave5000 - 2010-05-21 16:01

Flea markets or thrift stores.

mellymelsr - 2010-05-21 16:06

...ebay, thrift stores, flea markets, or boombox sites in the for sale section...

yep it all depends on how much money you are willing to spend.
I am unemployed at the moment so I have little dollars to spend on collecting boxes.
I wont buy from ebay as it is often expensive for good boxes & the shipping is sky high. Thrift stores here where I live dont sell them because they cant "test and tag" them.
So the only spot I've got left to pick up boxes is fleamarkets/bootsales and garage sales.
Good luck on mission to get some boxes but be carefull as it gets addictive.

hey steve
a warm welcome to you
just to echo other members here-do check carboots, fleas, garage sales and the like-but of late dont expect to find much here-the odd smaller box or more modern rubbish.the best idea is to trade with people on here, but until you get a few to trade, look in the for sale section on here and see whats nearest for you to buy/ship etc.
forget ebay.yes some bargains can be had but dont get carried away and watch out for scandalous shipping.
ive been where you are though, and it soon develops into an obsession so beware-when i started out beginning of last year i had maybee 1, or 2 boxes.now approximately 50 have gone through my hands, and i currently own about 8, with another coming on monday.i try nowadays to keep my collection below 10 due to space, but believe me, it isnt easy.ask any of the lads and lasses on here.
once agai welcome, and hope your stays a long one Wink

The local dumpit site is a goldmine for me but be aware at a lot of these sites the electrical goods are already sold to a third party .These in turn go to their sorting yards to be broken up and recycled so youve no chance of getting anything.Best bet is visit a few and gauge their response and if its a straight no then move on.You could always try the 3rd party recycle yards but Ive never met anyone who got into one of these never mind getting any goods out...lol
Best of luck

i can give you Andy V's home address - but you will have to work out when he is out, but the boxes will be free - till he gets home that is Laugh Out Loud
