Sorry Lav but i can't agree with you about the VZ2000 sounding crap No No it sounds as good as the GF800, or do you think that sounds crap too. When i first got my VZ i wasn't too happy with it, the function buttons needed cleaning with switch cleaner, that made a big difference, as did cleaning the tone arm needles that were full of fluff and dust producing a muffled sound.

im.out.of.hear - 2010-05-24 17:33

sorry adespin,i've had many vz's over the years and i've never been to keen on the sound of them either, they are quite loud but they have no bass, thats because the outer edge of the bass speakers had to be made very stiff to prevent it from giving feedback from the turntable, also they designed the amp so when the volume gets to about 6-7,the sound changes dramatically, goes flat..thats only my opinion, everyone is different...still,they do look very good quality,Huge, solid and they weigh a ton..
i've also had a couple of GF800's,they sound ok,better than the vz's anyhow..

transwave5000 - 2010-05-24 18:24

I saw a local add for a VZ
he wanted 500$ for it.

Some people try and get ebay prices
from a local add. No No

Or sometime's u get lucy like myself, picked up the same one for approx $60.00 us Big Grin

lav.loo - 2010-05-25 00:40

sorry ade i totally agree with gettoman here Nod Yes the gf 800 sounds better in my opinion too, don,t get me wrong i do like the look of the vz and it is quality built, but for me it sounds too flat, no bass and not much clarity.
still they make a lovely showpiece Wink

Wow!!, shot down in flames Eek, i bow to Gettomans experience, i'm probably biased towards the VZ partly because it was a steal at £26 on ebay last year, pick up only in the welsh valleys and nobody else bid on it. Smile Big Grin

miami - 2010-05-25 04:42

looks like they've calmed down a bit...still reserve not met at 350$ anyway. It's a pity to hear that they're not so good, I usually prefer more classic looking 'boxes but the VZ2000 always looked interesting to my eyes...maybe they've tried too hard and the result was not the best...

im.out.of.hear - 2010-05-25 06:15

heyy woah woah adespin Smile
no shooting down mate, that was'nt my intention..i only put my personal opinion tiz all, there still a really nice box,if you had it out in the park i can tell you all eyes would be on that box,its an awsom looker..
the sound is'nt a terrible sound, all i meant was i expected more for the size..
