Hi there all - new member and sort of new to this as well, BMX and Skater from 80's onwards and love the cool stuff that other's throw away ~ 80's bmx's old boomboxs - the sort of gear that you lot love to find !

well i needed some thing to go with a old bmx in a photo and picked up a ghettoblaster for the job - but didn't suit the look i was going for, so i keep my eye out for another, well one thing lead to another and now have a few

can some one give me a run down of what i'v got - the good, bad and ugly of it all

Hitachi 8200e
Sharp 9494
Hitachi 3D80
Hitachi 8080e (just picked up today)
JVC RC636LB
and then some small ones like Sharp GF 7300

any info on above or prices ?

got most from carboots and some free from mates at the recycle centre

will get some pictures up if wanted

Many thanks B

how doo bendycat and welcome..
From the word "carboot" i assume you are in uk ?? which part of uk ?
Not a bad collection of radio`s you got..
as for price, all prices are different, and for different reasons e.g if they all function ok or not, cosmetic condition,to the purest boombox collector condition is everything, and wether people want them or not..

yup from sunny uk - surrey nearish London

so are most on here from where ?

as i say i do the carboots, which have done since young (34 yrs old now) and at the moment with the way things are going with money, more and more people are put things up for sale in carboots instead of throwing away in the bin or recycle centres (<-- which is where i got the Sharp 9494 from - just put in one of the meatal bins, i know the lads there and asked if i could give it a new home before it gets crushed - they gave it to me for free - i had to carry it and walk with my bmx for 5 miles home the thing weighs 8.2kg !)

so thanks for the welcome and will get some pic's up of my little load and some of the one's i not said about.

cheers B

Never really tried boot sales or the dump (the guys at our local dump are miserable b'stards) I tend to get mine from Ebay and done a few deals with other members on here Cool

Amazing how quick the collection grows!
