I feel sorry for the guy.....

panasonic.fan - 2009-06-03 17:30

$475 for what should have been a $120 or so sale (tops).

Guess they just had to have it.

This is a textbook example of Ebay bidding tunnel-vision. It's a great little mini system, but he should have been bidding on two NIB models for that ending price.

jaredscottfla - 2009-06-03 18:58

i see a relist coming soon.
shill bidding,or a very uninformed buyer, and a seller laughing all the way to the bank

phade - 2009-06-03 19:02

I don't like how that looks.

But yeah, that's too much green.

blah.blah.blah - 2009-06-03 21:17

jeez, might outta have put mine up on the epay Eek

good box, insane price.

jamescyberjoe - 2009-06-05 12:42

What an idiot!
Don't feel sorry for him, he's a moron.
From the beginning he bid up the price and all thru the auction.
The stupidity on Ebay..tsk,tsk.

bendycat - 2009-06-05 12:54

I just got a couple of clean ones in from the dump - jvc r-22 and a panisonic rx c37l both in great conidition, both for £5

don't know why you would pay big money like that unless it one of the big one's on your list

he shold of waited till the end and put his big price in - i bet he would of got it for less

i hope that it was no one on here by the way Leaving

isolator42 - 2009-06-05 14:55

I love quality minis & this one's on my shortlist, but not at anything like that price.
Some people hve more money than others...

hanksey72 - 2009-06-05 15:53

From looking at this guy's repeated bidding during the auction (each time driving up the final price), I'd say it's the work of a newbie (17 feedback), who doesn't realize that the way to bid on eBay is to wait and put that high bid in at the end.

It also looks like he really wanted the box, since he entered higher maximums even after he'd topped everyone else. He was determined that no one was going to outbid him!

If it's not shill bidding, it's certainly the work of an amateur!

baby.boomer - 2009-06-19 18:05

One more thing... as someone who's been there (and still is, for the most part), it's easy to lose all perspective about prices (what I think PF means by "tunnel-vision") when you're caught up in eBay bidding (a lot like when you're bidding in a live auction). We don't have a lot of flea markets around here, but we have a few, with the local radio club holding quarterly meets, and I'm always amazed at how little collectibles cost in the "real world." A sure sign I'm spending too much time on eBay!

hanksey72 - 2009-06-19 18:15

its a trk8190 by hitachi

transwave5000 - 2009-06-19 19:33

I guess He had to have it.
I only get mine locally and if the price is very low.
Its impossible to get that kind of price on a local sale.
Only on ebay.

panasonic.fan - 2009-06-19 21:11

I saw that auction..... makes you wonder what's rolling around upstairs with some of these bidders.

He could have had a beautiful RX-C100 for less than $400.

There have been some fantastic deals on many great Panasonic models in the past few weeks, this not being one of them. The seller must have flipped when he saw the auction end.

driptip - 2009-06-20 10:23

thats such a nice pana c100, it sounds great.

kballenger53 - 2009-07-08 09:24
