Fine-tuning National RS-4360

vladi123456 - 2008-11-10 19:33

I haven't been entirely happy with the sound of my National Panasonic RS-4360. And today - after 10 months of ownership - I finally decided to see if there was anything I could do about it. And I was able to SIGNIFICANTLY improve the quality of sound!!!!!!!! By switching the Loudness on!! I'm so stupid Laugh Out Loud

redbenjoe - 2008-11-10 19:39

thats mighty innovative vladi -- Smile

one other trick -- is to turn the volume up --

its the big round knob left of the tuning dial --
twist it clockwise Big Grin Big Grin

Big Grin See Vladi,Your Never too old to LEARN

litfan - 2008-11-11 09:54

Do you mean, the rs-4360? I had one of these, for all of about a month. Rubbish.

vladi123456 - 2008-11-11 10:39

Is it RS-4360? Or RX? I'm confused now Smile

litfan - 2008-11-11 11:11

RS. The big, over-engineered lump. Similar to the rx-7700.

redbenjoe - 2008-11-11 11:23

ah- ha --
some member of notable prominence finally agrees with me about something !!

LUMP is the perfect word --
they put more effort into the swivel mikes than the sound quality Mad

but - still a great looker (imho)

vladi123456 - 2008-11-11 11:29

Ok, my mistake!! I'm used to Panasonics being RX Smile
I have to say though - mine sounds a LOT better now - after I tirned the Loudness on Smile

redbenjoe - 2008-11-11 11:37

we do love our lumps. Smile

Ira, I wouldn't know any spelling from the tirn of the century - as you remain to be the only one who witnessed how people used to spell back then - as I'm a couple of years younger - I'm turning 106 next month Wink

redbenjoe - 2008-11-11 12:38

the tirn of the century tirned 8 years ago Big Grin

vladi123456 - 2008-11-11 12:50

Must be a different tirn of century then Big Grin
8 years ago in Dallas people mostly spelled: *c u l8er* and such Big Grin

redbenjoe - 2008-11-11 12:59

that was about when the founder of CNN --
teamed up with this old rocker hottie :

Ted and Tina Tirner

vladi123456 - 2008-11-11 13:08

Tina Tirner? Wasn't she famous in 18th century or something?? Big Grin

peter.griffin - 2008-11-11 14:25

haha, Vladi, that was classic. Thanks for the laughSmile

Almost as bad as me complaining the "i931" was kinda "dull looking". I forgot to take off the protective plastic coatingSmile

oldskool69 - 2008-11-11 14:44

This thread is too funny! Ira offering spelling advice from the turn of the century while himself in diapers, for extreme seniors that is. Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud (And I should know, I had to send them to him from special factories right in Gulf Shores! Laugh Out Loud Laugh Out Loud)

vladi123456 - 2008-11-11 18:34

Actually, it was Ira who said *Ted and Tina Tirner* - because earlier in the thread I spelled *turned* as *tirned* - but I wasn't 100% sure which Tina he was talking about - so I asked Ira if he was referring to the famous Tina Tirner from 18th centiry Big Grin

Ike & turner corner?

redbenjoe - 2008-11-12 09:12

i can tina turner

(hopefully)

reli - 2008-11-13 20:19

Wow, so the 7700 sounds that bad?
It's gotta at least sound better than a 5050 or 5150...

redbenjoe - 2008-11-13 20:33

reli --it is better than those 2--

but a good cosmetic , functioning 7700 might sell on ebay for 5 or 10 times more than them.

vladi123456 - 2008-11-13 20:56

Reli, maybe I got lucky, but my 4360 sounds really good - better than my Sony CFS-99, Sharp 9696 or Sanyo 920, for example. Plus no other box comes even close to looking half as cool. In fact, it looks sooooooooo cool - even I'm envious of myself for owning it Big Grin

litfan - 2008-11-14 07:48

Look`s like a guitar amp.
