Scam on eBay? Please, help!

chordeater - 2008-11-03 13:31

Hello everyone,

I hope someone could help me.
A weeks ago I won this boombox: http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180294204999
I sent the money through bank transfer and today the seller told me that the money doesn't arrived yet, and opened a dispute for non paid item. I remember that he has two data bank in the payment page, and that I asked him for wich one is OK; he told me "the correct account is xxxx, the other one is my ex-girlfriend account ...". Today I check the payment, money was sent (I have the bank transfer certificate) to the right account.

Casually, today I won another bid: http://cgi.ebay.es/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180301477517
and what I surprise, the seller is suppose to be diferent, but the data bank is the same!! His name is Müjkan Sayan and the bank Deustche Bank.

What do you think, guys? What can I do?

Thank you.

Aser.

well I looked at both of them and they both have bank transfer's as a method of payment and i didnt try to get all of it translated either but both items that you won had this at the bottom

http://pages.ebay.de/help/sell/bank-transfer-intro.html
http://pages.ebay.de/help/sell/bank-transfer-intro.html

I didnt read either one but I myself have been burnt by paying by check or money order and I generally dont trust bank transfer's although I do trust Paypal as it does the same thing as a bank transfer but if there is a problem then you can go back through the tranaction with paypal but with a direct bank transfer I just dont know

bottem line only use paypal !!!!

or travel to where-ever the item is and pick it up and pay for it then as Europe is not that big of a place like Texas is Big Grin

chordeater - 2008-11-03 13:54

Germany is a country where Paypal seems to not exist. All my 7-8 boomboxes was paid through bank transfers to Germany, and I didn't have a problem ... and Germany is the best place (in practice, the unique) in Europe to get good boomboxes.

The seller gave me this mail: seico1@hotmail.de for the Hitachi and traumewerdenwahr@hotmail.de for the Aiwa.

For the moment I only paid the Hitachi, but I'm mostly sad for the Aiwa, it's beatiful ...

I feel for you Chordeater I noticed both auctions do not have Paypal. I don't want to sound negative but with no Paypal it will be a long battle. File a dispute against him on ebay and send him copies of the money transfer documents. This guy is a total loser and deserves to be banned from ebay. I was lucky I won a boombox from Germany and received it in one piece and to top it the guy didn't have Paypal. But I was on top of this by asking him for the shipping tracking number I also sent him the money transfer confirmation number to show him that I was keeping my end of the bargain. He was an honest guy on his auction it had his name, address and phone number. I hope it turns out O.K. for you bud. Nod Yes

Hey chordeater. I bought a contec boombox from pranke-123 in september and the ebay was very good. And in his feedbacklist blasterpunk gave him green feedback, too. It´s interesting if he´s the same person like traeumewerdenwahr1, because pranke-123 was the one who gave this guy the first two green feedbacks.
I just checked my bank data and the name I was sendeng my money to was Philomela Gruhlke. Was this his ex-girlfriends bank adress?
If thats the case you should definitely tell this to ebay, because something smells bad about this guy. Looks like he´s pushing his sale items with his second account and faking feedback.
On the other hand I can tell no bad about my contec blaster. It came a week after in good package and good condition like in the description.

chordeater - 2008-11-03 22:53

Hello,

that is, Philome Gruhlke! He told me this account is closed now, and the actual Müjkan Sayan one is suppose to be his mother account ...
I checked that he sent feedback himself, thank you for the warning. This is totally illegal, but not either a proof of scam.
On the other hand, you say you received the bbox without problems.
The Hitachi description says it is broken down, I won't try to scam through a broken bbox, a good bbox means much money. But I checked the money was sent to the correct account, and the seller says no ...
By the moment I talked with the eBay customer service here in Spain. It's possible I'll need to talk with the equivalent german eBay customer service; maybe some of the german users could help me to translate.

Thank you!

drmz - 2008-11-04 00:00

Sure, we can help you with translation. I hope you will get your boombox. Keep us updated and good luck!

viennasound - 2008-11-04 00:21

I have problems with a other dealer too.
I made bank transfer, he told "money become" and nothing happens.
No answer, no box. Mad
But he has good feedback from other deals.

So i don´t like ebay very much... Frown

chordeater - 2008-11-05 13:16

Well,
finally, the seller has checked the payment and closed the "non payment item" action. It was just after a sugestion about a contact with the eBay german customer service, but I'm going to think fairly. He said it was a mistake and say sorry for the disturb.
I'll wait for the Hitachi and then I'll pay the Aiwa, both looks beautiful, and I hope there will be no more problems.

I will report to all of you.

Thank you!

reli - 2008-11-05 13:51

Several German sellers accept Paypal, if you ask them. I hate paying a bank transfer because of the fee involved.

chordeater - 2008-11-05 23:06

Hello Reli,
my bank charges me about 2 euros for any international bank transfer. For a payment over 50 euros I think is not much.
But I will ask for Paypal option in the future. I have problems with two transactions (between hundreds ofthis, maybe a thousand) in wich the payment was through Paypal, and they assumed it and took my money back.

Best regards.

chordeater - 2008-11-07 12:20

This guy have triple personality:

http://shop.ebay.de/merchant/jetztkaufen!!

The white sheet give his away!

...

fatdog - 2008-11-07 12:25

Not only the sheet, but the listing style is exactly the same for all three eBay IDs.

blasterpunk - 2008-11-09 11:43

I should visit him in Berlin and ask him whats wrong. DMZ what do you think about it? I got a boombox from him and it was in excellent condition and sent fast. There were no problems. But if you need help, i would try to reach that guy in his appartement. Nod Yes

drmz - 2008-11-09 14:10

Like I said, no bad to tell about my ebay with him. But maybe its a good idea to let him know, that he cant rip off foreign customers that easy.
After reading this topic I stoped bidding on his items for now, just because I don´f feel very comfortable with this much similar accounts and I´m not sure, what´s the masterplan behind. Is he just pushing his items, if they sell too low?

billpc55 - 2008-11-09 21:45

i am starting to think maybe there should be a section of this site called scam on ebay.
better yet scum on ebay.

chordeater - 2008-11-20 13:30

Hello,

the Hitachi arrived at last, as descibed and well packed. I'm going to pay the Aiwa. I think this seller simply created some eBay nicks to vote each other, and while I don't agree with this ways, probably it's true he didn't saw the payment I've done.

I'll report you when the Aiwa comes.

Best regards.

drmz - 2008-11-20 13:46

Thats good news, chordeater!

chordeater - 2008-12-01 14:41

Hello,

Aiwa arrives at last, so finally I confirm this wasn't scam, but a seller who try to earn possitive feedback voting himself between three nicks of his own...

Anyway, the Aiwa is supposed to work perfectly, but this is not totally true:

Regards.

chordeater - 2008-12-09 14:02

Well, I have to say that the seller offered me a partial refund for the Aiwa's unregular operation. "Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s" ...

Regards.
