Hey Lav-loo, and any other "youngsters" that never saw the movie. The guy carrying the "boombox", his character name is, "RADIO Raheim, not boombox or ghettoblaster Raheim"Wink

yeah classic scene...its just how we use to do it back in the day battle it out with our boxes and put some kind of cushion around the box handle (as shown) so your hand wouldnt get sore... i used to use like bmx bike foam and wrap it with black tape.....lol

Hey Retro,i remember watching this when it first came out,The Part where there having a street battle with the 2 Ghettos, radio raheem makes a mistake,he goes to turn the J1 up but instead of turning the volume up,he pushes the slider on the opposite side...also,on the youtube clips of the street battle, the real tune they play on the J1 is Fight the Power by Public Enemy, the tune they play on the youtube version is different !

Check this..about 1.00 minute in..

Besides the obvious wrong volume slider increase, you see in that very 1st picture, the box had "HYPER SOUND" written on the speaker grilles - which goes to show that for that one scene, they used a different J-1 Super Jumbo.

Also, when he met up with Spike in the middle of the street for the "LOVE vs. HATE" scene, Bill Nunn not only turned down the correct volume slider, but also the balance slider (maybe, 'cause I can't really tell from those screenshots... They might've been down already)...

Not to be over-technical, but for someone who's character is attached to his box at the hip, Bill Nunn should've gotten himself more familiar with the functions of the box he'd be carrying throughout the movie.
