classic brutus lad....hey are you from the uk man...it's just amstrad were a british make.....

Something i need to adress personaly man...im so obsessed with the sound these things put out...i need to step back and enjoy them for what they are and mean....Just to be part of the origional tape generation and living through the 80's is so amazing in it's self....I wouldn't have it any other way lad....i mean for me you can forget your mobile phones mp3 players etc....im such a miserable sod sometimes  i loose sight of the real thing wich is the ghettoblaster and the music it's self....thanks for shairing it's brought part of this back to me...i used to love the amstrad tower we had back in the early 80's playing the war of the worlds and stuff like that....thanks dude...

I remember seeing that amstrad in (i think) kays catalogue in the early 80s along with some Sharp GFs,Vz's,Philips D8734 and Amstrad 8090 with pop out walkman, and also the hitachi TRK8300 and Hitachi TRK W1E with pop out walkman ect, and i still have a Amstrad Tower Hifi, model TS88,i think it was the top model they made with the 7 band eq,twin deck and remote control, think it dates from around 83,i love it and wont sell it,they are actually not as bad you would think, the graphic is very responsive, and it has a good amp, just the speakers that are abit poor due to that pointless massive hole where a midrange should be,why did they do that ?? i'm still a sucker for the speakers even though they were badly made..

I had the same amstrad back in the early 90's paul...lovely sound....the one my mum had in the early 80's had bass trebble loudness and rumble....I remember using it on my origional dc33l speakers instead of the amstrad ones...and there was a major improvment.....but yup the one with the 7 band eq was nice lad....

And talk about sentimentality paul....I have tims origional pc....it was origionally a single core computer...bought in 2004 (the worlds first dual graphics card pc(sli)....well it actually was mine but I gave it to him, he had it for a good few years....anyway it was origionally a single core upgreaded to a dual core has 3 n a half gig ram..but here is the kicker i have just put in 2 geforce gtx 580 and a 1250w psu....the graphics cards are totally overkill for such an old pc but i tell ya what..it will run any pc game on the market today...not bad for what was onece a single core pc...it's that old it actually uses ddr1 memory lol.....anyway my point is ill NEVER sell it I dont care what im offered....where old farts when it comes to sentimentality ehh...

i was looking at pc games on the boot market this morning, but after thinking about it, i walked away coz they will clog my h.drive up and end up making my lappy run slow, but its a tosh dual core 2x-2.1Ghz with 4gb ram,17" screen..

Yes my brother still has an Amstrad Tower aswell, the older model with bass treble, scratch filter, rumble filter ect..he inherited it when he bought his bungalow,it was already in the house when he moved in,he has'nt got the heart to throw it,he never throws anything out,he's still got a Pana Dt6xx box that he bought off me in around 1994,i cant remember the model, its the same as the DT680 but without soft touch cassettes,it went faulty years ago but he wont throw it away,i would'nt let him anyway,i would have it back off him first..He just uses my (well his now) Vz2000,he will never sell that,my landlord offered him £100 last week and he replied with a stern and firm "no" ! even though they dont sound that good, he still loves it..
