Liquor supplier Bacardi Global Travel Retail has launched two new gift packs for rum brand Bacardi. The first celebrates its long association with music and the second its iconic bat logo.

The new Casa Bacardi Boom Box gift pack is inspired by the brand’s heritage and association of being at the heart of “legendary and unforgettable parties”. The gift pack is exclusive to travel-retail and is a twin-pack holding two one-litre bottles of Bacardi Superior rum. The pack doubles as a speaker box, and when the bottles are removed, an MP3 player can be plugged into the box transforming it into a portable music system.

Bacardi Global Travel Retail marketing manager Pedro Santos said: “As the story of the Rum of the Bat illustrates, there are very few brands with as rich a heritage as Bacardi. It makes sense
then that we should capture elements of our magnificent history in stand-out, disruptive packs that will drive shoppers to the rum fixture. Travel-retail shoppers expect to see packs which differ from the domestic market and these new packs couldn’t be more different. They make outstanding gifts for anyone who loves Bacardi rum too!”

The second new launch is the Bacardi Legend of the Bat gift box., which celebrates the story of the “Rum of the Bat” or “El Ron del MurciÉlago”. The story goes that early on in Bacardi’s history, Doña Amalia Moreau, the wife of founder Don Facundo Bacardi, discovered a colony of fruit bats living in the rafters of their humble tin-roofed distillery
