oh and no I dont have one of these.

skippy1969 - 2009-11-22 18:11

It's a Mac keyboard. Wink
Too bad you didn't have had a transformer then I would have two fully functioning RX-5050's.
Thanks. Big Grin

ok I dont have a Mac.
well I do have a transformer but not for that.
What is wrong with your 'part' there ?

skippy1969 - 2009-11-22 18:44

That is cool. Wink
The transformer is shorted out.
It was accidentally hooked up to 220 volts without the voltage selector set to the correct voltage. Not by me though. Frown

well if you are not too particular you can get another transformer [ not original ] an install it in it's place to make it work - radioshack sell's them you just need a 12v tap and a full wave bridge an maybe a filter capacitor an you are back in business...

Yes,I thought about this too.
But I'm just trolling and waiting to see if someone has an original transformer assembly, rather than cobble it together.
It is such a minty nice boombox,I would like to keep it original.
Thanks for the advice though. Big Grin
