hey lav-im with you about these toshibas-had a couple of lesser ones in the past-rt80/120/6316-basically the trashy ones-but like you never had a serious toshiba, ie the bombeats,etc and the ones you list here.hope you find luck in your quest mate-have you tried your mate?

I recomend the Wx1. Great box.

I don't know about the larger models, but don't expect BIG sound from the smaller models 'cause they aren't that loud.

The RT-S913 is the BomBeat 40, the grail of grails! Considering its ULTRA RARE status, you have a better chance of getting hit by lightning... TWICE... than to ever own one of those. Still, I hope you can beat the odds.

hey mono i was actually offered the bombeat last week of a member on here, but i decided i liked he,s GE blockbuster better so i traded for the ge instead.
so they are possible to get even here in the uk.

Great sounding box, but not loud or powerful. I just put mine back into it's box... Much rarer and better looking than a GE Blockbuster , but that GE will blow the Toshiba out in a battle, I'm sure.

i must admit i love the toshiba,s they all look so cool, the one i was offered wasn,t in the best condition that,s why i chose the blockbuster.

I have a Toshiba 8290S..was sellin it on ebay but the more I use it (shortwave listening) the more i decide to kep it. The sound rivals any bigger Box! Clear and crisp. Granted i have only 4-5 Boxes now and none are all that big, but I can't imagine anything sounding much much better...we'll see cause I'm lookin to buy something..maybe a 777, or Lasonic...anyone got anything for sale?

OH..IT'S YOURS HAHHA...ok.. didn't realize that.. Someone else has replaced the speakers??? I like the design, and the looks of it, but when investing a wad o cash munny like that I am kinda picky...it's things like that that ya have to keep in mind for the future.. In case ya'd have to sell it down the road ifin ya need the munny for an emergency.. Kinda like when ya put munny into yer house in a bad economy and real estate market..ya gotta be careful in case ya have to re-sell it. ya know?...But it is beautiful. What else ya got? I'm lookin for a "big one" like that...By the way..I love toshibas...I am using a 8290s daily...they have great sound!
