mix.masta.mullet - 2010-08-31 02:37

yea he messaged me about it. says hes not sure of its condition but will take a look at some point.. heres hoping!
i was going to go up to reading to get some today but the 9191 was what was enticing me and now its gone Frown im going to hold out, i think one of these two would be a good first box

lav.loo - 2010-08-31 06:08

ye i think one of these would make a good first box too Nod Yes
best of luck in getting one Wink

mix.masta.mullet - 2010-08-31 06:21

thanks Smile
oone other thing - ive seen one on ebay which is cosmetically good but a bit knackered - missing an antenna, battery cover and the tape doesnt work (not bothered about the tape for now). i searched a parts site and found the arial (i think)'aerial telescopic' ? does that sound right? and the only thing i could find which sounded like a battery case was called 'cover cass ho' ? whats that? - http://www.partmaster.co.uk/cg...query=gf9191%20cover

if i can definitely get these two bits, ill buy the box, definitely (if dave doesnt sort one out Smile )

lav.loo - 2010-08-31 15:44

ye MIXMASTA telescopic antenna is the correct name if your a bit posh unlike me Big Grin
ariel sounds right to me, it,s up to you mate if you think you can get the parts then go for it Nod Yes if not then hold out, im sure a decent one will crop up soon for you Wink

mix.masta.mullet - 2010-09-01 00:45

wise words lav Smile
i would like a spanking one but i dont even have a box at the moment and the sun is shining! theres only so long i can wait! haha

Good luck finding a 9191 without any problems for a cheap price. People seem to think they are grails, so they command a high price. They have great styling, and sound decent, but Aiwas sound better IMO. Big Grin

mix.masta.mullet - 2010-09-02 13:02

im bidding on one with a missing antenna, other than that its a bit dirty. unfortunately i think someones pretty keen for it too, i might be outbid Frown ill see tomorrow evening when it finishes..

lav.loo - 2010-09-02 15:04

best of luck MIX MASTA Wink

mix.masta.mullet - 2010-09-03 11:12

got outbid Frown
it was on £17, i thought id wait til the last few seconds, go in with £50 as a max bid and probably get it for about £30 odd. nope. ah well, i feel some consolation in that the guy paid more than he was expecting (as cruel as that is, im bitter now!)
apparently davebush has one hes willing to part with. a bit dirty, broken aerials, but working.. hes going to get back to me next week with a price Smile
cant wait, the weathers great and i have no box!

lav.loo - 2010-09-03 11:32

come on DAVE sort this 9191 out, the guys really eager here Big Grin Wink

im.out.of.hear - 2010-09-04 16:01

i got a 9191,its had belt change, pinch roller changed, the capstan shaft rubber changed, but the deck still is'nt right, its a pain, the play spool still sticks and it plays a little slow, its cost me £50..i totally regret buying it,its been nothing but a problem child ever since i bought it..
Master,my advice to you is,dont buy one with a dodgy deck, too risky,i thought this one would have been an easy fix,how wrong was i...

mix.masta.mullet - 2010-09-05 16:09

ah that sucks man. thanks for the advice though. to be honest id probably just use the line in for playing music so the tape issues wouldnt affect me. i just want something which sounds and looks good, i gather it does that?

lav.loo - 2010-09-05 16:22

the 9191 does,nt have line in MIX MASTA, just phono sockets Frown sorry to throw another spanner in the works Wink

mix.masta.mullet - 2010-09-06 09:18

when i say line in i mean just mean phono sockets that will take aux/digital input, it has that right?

mix.masta.mullet - 2010-09-06 09:23

(and im still looking by the way guys, if someones willing to sell one please get in touch)

it has phono socket which is for turntable use, don,t think you can plug a cd player or an mp3 or ipod into it if that,s what you mean Wink

mix.masta.mullet - 2010-09-06 12:33

well maybe i could get one of those fm transmitters or something? it does have good sound though doesnt it?

lav.loo - 2010-09-06 12:44

yes they do sound good, but not as good as the philips No No and the philips has proper line in Big Grin

mix.masta.mullet - 2010-09-06 12:54

lav.loo - 2010-09-06 13:01
