M-90 exchange

hifitom - 2008-09-17 16:24

Hello

I'm still looking for a exchange: Kenwood DC-20 against a JVC M-90. Take a look at the selling-area (for photos).

PM me if you are interested.

Thanks and best wishes
TOM

that trade, will most likely never happen.......good luck though

- 2008-09-18 14:45

I Agree i don't see that trade happening either

- 2008-09-18 15:11

I Agree after all it is only a 3 peice he was lucky i offered one of my m90's but he want's a mint one and to add to that when his unit is all conected it doesn't even run on batts, good luck tom

it doesn't seem like an equitable trade to me....but thats just me.

Well, in defense of Tom, though the M90 seems to be the equivalent of finding Al Capones burial tomb, I think it's a fair deal.

First off...How many El Poco's are available versus M90's? A Kenwood box period?

Second...if it's complete, case, books and all, then there should be a working battery pack. (Note the specs:12V UM-1 X 8)

Three...who cares how many pieces it has. When assembled and carried...it's one.

Four...If he has a comlplete on one (see Three) the why shouldn't he expect a "complete" M90? At least a complete one 8/10 on looks.

And as I said before...rarer than an M90...waaayyyy rarer. Smile

I Agree
with oldskool --if it is a great sounding and super rare kenwood box --then its very $$ valuable -

its just that 99.9% us (like me) have never heard --or heard of this model --
so giving up the 'sure thing' M90 would seem too risky for most of us.

- 2008-09-18 17:12

Well i offered my m90 so dont blame me.

The box in question does run on batts but when assembled speakers amp it does not

Its a known fact that any 3 peice isnt worth as much as a good 1 peice i dont know why just stating facts, i wish tom all the best with is sale besides of wich i have had a better offer for my m90.

Ill add i think tom is a grat guy, tom you should send jameswp67 a pm i think he is interested and may offer you an m90 good luck mate. Smile

I can uderstand why someone who hasn't heard one may be worried and even the one piece value scenario.

But the El Poco will slaughter an M90 power and sound wise. It is in the same league as the Aiwa Carryin Compo, Telefunken Studio 1, Pioneer CK-5F, Hitachi J3, Sansui CP-7 and the like.

It really is a shelf system...with a twist. It will run on batteries. And that's what makes them special. When you had these brands like Denon making a boombox version of their home stereo you had a real treat. No one has caught on yet. Even JVC was in the fray with the PC series. (3,5,7,11,55, etc.)

Point is if you can get this do it. Heck I would have if I had an M90 or even the cash. Not selling for Tom but just telling it like it is.

For those out there that can, don't miss something special. M90's aren't what I'd call rare. The El Poco is. Smile

You mean the modded M90 right? Big Grin

- 2008-09-18 18:39

Totally, mind you there both modded to be honest oldy i thought the telefunken studio 1 was the winner untill a couple of weeks ago and i gave them a side by side comparrison the m90 is louder but it has the same warm deep bass as the studio i just prefure it hands down, i wish i had a standard m90 although i no what the answer would be Smile. as to wich m90 sounds best oldie its the 1 on the left in my av.

cali9dub - 2008-09-18 20:18

which M-90 do you have...61w or 70w?

- 2008-09-19 05:03

Hi cali it dosen't matter wich one i have there all the same volume but i have both the 60 and the 70 w version.

cali9dub - 2008-09-19 09:07

I never noticed the difference myself...I have one of each....wasn't sure if it made a difference and I had a dud...lol

- 2008-09-19 11:57

The only thing with mine cali i have made the cassete portion on mine louder so gawd knows what they put out now lol.

transamguy1977 - 2008-09-19 15:04

If I had the scratch or a spare M-90 layin around,
That El Poco would be mine Nod Yes
I have never seen one , much less a complete one.
With those radiators that box must sound beautiful.
