JVC PC 55/550

kid.sensation - 2008-09-03 06:47

me wants a JVC PC 55 or 550
I'd like a fully working one in rather nice condition.

Let me know if or what you got and what price you're asking for.

Depending on the price i would buy now or in November ( getting my extra-cash from work then Smile )

So basically this topic is about , if there is anyone willing to part with one for a decent price!

hope shipping to germany wont blow up the deal.

I like both colour-shemes but seriously i would prefer the 550.But if you got a nice 55 for a nice price i would take it too Big Grin

pm me if you got some info or idea and we could have a little chat about when, what, how much and so on.

thanks.

kid -- dont have one --but these are exceptionally heavy --so if you found one over there --and even if you had to pay 40% more --
you would still have a lower $$ deal

kid.sensation - 2008-09-03 07:56

Hey Ira, thanks for the input.

If im not mistaken hifitom received one from oldskool during a trade.

maybe oldskool knows about the shipping price to germany.I'll pm him and ask.

Cause these beauties simply do not exist over here.I never saw one or heard of anyone owning one Frown (except hifitom who got his from the us)

So going through a big $$'-deal for a good one with shipping seems to be the only way for me.
(since the €uro is very strong i think it's going to be an ok-deal)

Since i started collecting they were about my only holy grail as i could not imagine back then that i will have money to ask any us-members Big Grin

ok - i understand --
and you might as well add the PC-5 to your wish list --they are at least --THAT GOOD !! Smile

redbenjoe - 2008-09-03 16:00

Christmas ??

kid.sensation - 2008-09-03 16:03

Laugh Out Loud

let me explain..when we handle the deal in november ( the month I'll get my extra-cheque from work ) the unit will be on its travel.

I do not have any experience with shipping from us to germany but i had my 999 from HongKong. That took about 1 month..so ye that got me started thinking of christmas Big Grin

Kid the 55 is great but and i mean but if you put some better speakers in an already great box it unleashes a monster. Smile

Agree with RimTimTim here. The PC-55 is an awsome component box. Four sections plus the handle. But can be helped with the right speakers. I also wanted it to look as close to original as possible. That's what I did. See my old post here with video.

I Found BASS For My JVC PC-55!!!

It made a big difference. The sensitivity and the resistance matched the originals. The replacements were far more robust and handled more power. Not everyones cup of tea I'm sure but something to consider. And I have some originals for it as well if I ever sell it to restore it back. Smile

Oldskool69...follow-up! Tap ToesAny word on the model# of the Sony you scarfed those speakers from? They look like the ones used in CMT-hp7, speakers themselves being SS-chp7. Though, the tweeters look like what are called midranges in the Sony. I can get ones from PartsExpress that would fit, but don't know if they will sit flush enough for the front plate ring. Thanks
