I like the Conion but don't really like the HK-9000. I never did like 3-piece units or black boombox's very much.

I have and HK and 606 copy, the HK is 2x22Watts and it is amazingly loud.  The 606 is almost as loud......3 piece or not.

I think you will also be intrested in the Sharp GX88...that-s one big monster too. Powerful, unfortunately rare.

I used to own a Sharps HK9000 back in '89, although the badge on it said Supra. I

don't recall it having a model number. At the time it was great (apart from the amount

of batteries I used to go through (11 in total, including the clock)). I have noticed two

slight differences though, the APSS/APLD on mine had a single digit LED display, with

up & down buttons to adjust the amount of tracks to skip (1-9). Another thing is that

mine had a proper solid plastic & chrome handle on it. Unfortunately though, I used it

every day as my main sound system, with my decks, TV, guitar all plugged into it (with

two mixers) needless to say....It only lasted 2-3 years. When it packed up, I gave it

away, which I shouldn't have done as now I would have fixed it. No worries though,as

I will buy another one, soon, to use as a portable guitar amp for jamming over.
