Wise plan I reckon. Just think how gutted you'd be if you killed it! Leave as is matey

Not often i make the right decision si mate but something told me to leave her alone...the boxes i have trashed is noones business...sure i have fixed quite a few but not this time.....that's what makes me mad si.....im sure there are plenty of people who would pay good money for repairs.....but people just can't be bothered anymore...including some good techs that i know around mine....they would rather waste hundreds on the disposable junk of today....it's sickening lad

The assumption these days is that if it breaks you dump it.

The kids left batteries in one of the Guitar Hero guitars for the ps3, they leaked and dissolved the cheap contacts. A couple of years back I woulda binned it but now I just stripped it apart, desolderd the old contacts, fettled some replacements from my boombox spare parts and soldered it back it. Now works A1...jobs a goodun.  It's far more satisfying and 'green' to fix things than send them to landfill.

It'd be great if we could take the boxes we find to a local repair shop and get a full service done...but I suppose there's just such a limited number of us that want repairs that its not economically viable for someone to run a shop. But on the other hand if there were repair shops I wouldn't have had the huge satisfaction of fixing my own boxes, or at least most of them lol

most stuff these days isn't worth repairing si....last new hifi i bought brand new was a £400 sony back in 2000....within 2 years the display had burnt out lens was cream crackered you name it.....to be honest and im not on a downer...i wish i had died back in the mid 90's the world today is just not worth living in..to much has changed people gone for my liking...specially where i am...the town is stone dead most of the time..its just shit lad lol

You need to move then mate...I love where I live and feel so lucky to be there.

As they say on the telly, it's location location location that's important and if you crack it then life can still be pretty good even in this day and age

Wales is nice to visit but I wouldn't want to live there (apologies to any welsh members!)
