Autobot84 packs for a nuclear war

masterblaster84 - 2008-02-05 19:31

I just received an M90 from Autobot84 and his packing absolutely rocks. It would have taken a nuclear explosion to damage the box in the nearly 1 foot of packing that surrounded the box. Definitely overkill packing but as we all know you can never have to much packing around these boxes. Big Grin

It took me 30 minutes to unwrap and clean up the packaging.

Thanks guys, I'll post a pic.

The issues are the top trim needs to be replaced with Bredgeo's new trim piece that Autobot84 supplied, I have already removed the original trim. It also has a low volume distortion issue and weak sound, I think I might need to re-cap the amplifier and possibly the power supply but I have some testing to do before I go that far.

What I can tell so far is the M90 has a very powerful sound, I can see why it's so popular. Now for the posts that have claimed some boxes sound better, those boxes must sound incredible because the M90 kicks A$$. Big Grin

i've heard that if you shoot some deoxit in the volume pot from the inside it will fix that small crackling sound.

I will definitely try that first, just so happens I have a brand new bottle of Deoxit and it's going to get a workout, If this doesn't help then I will dig deeper. From some experience with amps and bad caps the behavior is similar to what I'm getting out of the M90. I hope it just the pots, that would sure be easier to deal with right now.

Hey Don, I missed this thread somehow - congrats on your M90! Now we want to see some pics - with or withoug the new trim piece!! Big Grin

masterblaster84 - 2008-02-07 09:39

Thanks Vladi, I will post some pics but it looks much better with the trim attached. Maybe I will just tape it on, that should work for some decent pics. I have a lot of work planned for it but lets see how much I actually end up doing. Does this officially put me in the "M90 Snob Club" ? Big Grin

Oh ya - totally! You should reflect your new status in your username - maybe MasterBlasterM90 or something along the lines Wink
