The marks on this walkman are just about worn off. Being a novice, I'll appreciate someone identifying it.

Thanks-Pierre

Hope you don't mind but I changed your pics, grabbing JPG urls from Flickr is a bit tough but I usually grab them from the 'grab the HTML' box in the share section.

Excellent eye Colin, you are correct it is the WM-FX55. Positive Identification as I have one and just checked pictures against mine. These units have a common problem of door latch failing not holding door closed. Also plus both my EX55 and FX55 have belt issues wont engage. Not replaced yet. Robust player with excellent advantage of two AA batteries internal. IMO Walkman having 3 volts to work with offer much better sound turned up loud.

yep, i have the same one also. it works well once it starts running. if the batteries are just a bit low it won't start. this player,,i would say, wants only the best or it just sits and stays lazy. its the only player i have that is like this. i take that back. my panasonic rq-v520 is just the same.

This is a WM-FX55 yes, I have the same one. My FX55 works well on low batteries - like all electronically controlled machines it either runs or it doesn't. Once the batteres become depleted, it shuts off automatically.
