JVC walkman from 1983

I bought a JVC Auto Reverse walkman back in 1983 on layover in Japan at a duty free store . I have had no luck in finding this unit . It was kinda like the CQ-22 but had no FM option and no red or strips on it , but the shape was almost the same . The buttons were a little different also . It also had a 3 band tone control . It did record and the earphone sould lousey but it sounded great with my sony earphones . Does anyone know what model this could have been ?

Do you have a picture Nicolle? I would like to see it. Nod Yes

I don't have a picture and I can't even remember what I did with it . I must correct what I wrote first , This unit did NOT record . Sorry for the typo .

Yeah, I've been struggling with this one too. Assuming your unit had the centralised buttons on top like this...

Then the only units I can find reference to had the red stripe.

Don't forget that you could buy a bolt on radio receiver for the above.

I'm now intrigued, are you sure it was a JVC?
