Rare WM-10????

elite1502323 - 2008-12-02 07:48

Hi All
You might have seen this "Rare" WM-10 listed on eBay (#200282640023). Check out the description. At the risk of sounding cynical, do you think someone accidentally inserted the rewind button facing the wrong direction when re-assembling?
Your feedback is welcome.

Ha, more like he threw bits together from different units & forgot to do it correctly.

Yeah I saw the same unit for sale also. Some Japanese guy on the assembly line forgot to put his glasses on, I think. Or he was to busy talking on his cell phone.....Wait a minute! Did Japan have cell phones back in the 80's?

"rare production error"?
That's a good eBay spin if ever I saw one.
If it was on fire it might be listed as having ac rare, warmer-than-usual feature...

I have a rare walkman that was manufactured TOTALLY 100% UPSIDE DOWN!! Every single part!!! Box too!!! I couldn't believe it when I saw it on the shelf!

The assembly error may be true. If you try to put "upside down" the rewind button on the WM-10 the "arrows" must be in upper side of the button... The only method to obtain a "fake" assembly error is to put another FFWD button from another unit. Of course, you can obtain TWO units with "defective" or "wrong" buttons, one with two FFWD and the other, of course, with two RWD buttons.

If this man does not offer later a unit with the two FFWD buttons, lets assume is it a real "assembly line error"

Quality control errors in some articles are interesting, I am a Hot Wheels cars collector too, and I have some very good "errors" like wrong cars in wrong blisters, upside-down cars inside the blister, one blister sealed with no-car inside. Also recently I purchase a laptop computer with two wrong letters in the keyboard, the "G" and "H" interchanged respectively, not more because I fix the problem. Also, I have a Sony Trinitron TV with wrong "trinitron" badge in the upside left corner of the TV, It is one from earlier TVs.

Do you have some rare about your walkmans or boomboxes AGENT?

Wait a god damn minute, what's going on here?

Why have you glued it to your wooden ceiling?

zx280 - 2008-12-04 02:06

In Australia ALL walkman models come in the upside down version!

I bought this "rare" item... I will see if it is just a button put in wrong or if it really has two of the same button.

Did anyone of you ever had Australian beer?

I tried it once, but when I opened the bottle, the holy stuff went skyhigh. Confused
