Orix OA-1?

Hey, are you guys familiar with this walkman? Ive gotten ahold of a few of these new and unopened in the boxes Smile These have gotten me pretty anxious to find out more as I cant find any info on these anywhere, and Ive never even heard of the brand before..

They are made in Japan and seem pretty low budget as you turn the power and play mechanism on and off by plugging the headphones in or pulling them out. Also, the only button on the walkman is a fast forward button which fast forwards the tape as it playing.

They use 2 AA size batteries and have anti-rolling mechanism. the headphones are foldable as you can see. Theres also a belt clip and a bunch of specifications on the back of the box that I could take pictures of if anyone would like to see it.

So does anyone have anything to share about the walkman or the brand?

And since Ive got a few of these I was thinking of selling a few off, Ive actually already been offered to buy them from a few persons just by carrying my own around town Smile But I dont know what to charge for them, so what do you guys figure is a reasonable price?

The pictures with the tape is to give an estimate of the measurements Smile

That is a very nice walkman! Cool

Looks similar to a CROWN,or UNISEF, ORIX very popular here in Mexico in the 80's, a cheap walkman, sounds good enought, but the plastic case is fragile, and one strange condition of these walkmans is (always) the broken cassette door hinges, (we have to play cassettes without cassette doors) hee, heeeee.... All the boys in the school with CROWN walkmans are in the same condition... Good times!

And yes, I want one !

Im glad you guys like it Smile And thanks Tranxmetal, its nice to know a little bit about them. So you want one as well? Sure, I could sell you one Smile So what do you think its worth then?

If everyone thats said that theyll buy one actually does, that leaves me with just one more boxed if anyone else wants one...

...what i like is ur dj qbert-cassette, is it an original ??? would u make me a copy ???

Yeah, sure Smile Im always up for mixtape trading, PM me.

Oh and.. Its the 'preschool breakmix' tape. But you knew that, right?

It might be difficult to tell from those pics, but the cassette cover is lined up with the side of the walkman so its a pretty small walkman, right? I wouldve expected a walkman with such a 'plastic' look to be bigger anyway.

Also, I think that Ive probably got buyers for all of them now as a friend of mine wants to get the last one Smile

just one suggestion for the price of these cassette players. I will say 30 dollars plus shipping.
