Didn't even have the original red leatherette case....and still it went for a good price! (ouch! missed it)

Red makes a good colour for most walkmans. There was supposed to have been a blue wm30 in a beautiful deep blue...have only seen photos of that elusive model!

Good eyes Doc yeah I noticed the case was wrong for player.  Over 100 GBP is pretty good money.  I got lucky over a year ago found one in really excellent condition and it arrived working very well and just tried it and still plays like a Red Bull Champ

It really is one of the more beautiful RED sony models the brushed finish under red coating really adds to the look on this player.  One of my favorites for appearance.

What do we know about this seller?  Is he/she one of us?

I always wonder how someone could have amassed such a large collection of nice clean semi-desirable units without ever having swung by S2Go.

Not me

hi....i was reading this forum. and it reminded me i own a nice wm-30 in blue which i bought dead on ebay a couple of years ago. i replaced the belt and cleaned it up and it is working as good as new. cosmetically, i would give it an easy 8 out of 10. are these really that scarce or are they just scarce because they were made for a japanese release. any info would be much appreciated. thanks much.

I know.  I was actually watching the auction and was going to buy the WM-30 because it looked really awesome!  But $180us was little bit more than what I was willing to pay.  I still have nightmares about letting this one get away.  But my wife would have shit a brick if she found out that I spent nearly $200 on a walkman.

Your red WM-30 looks awesome!  I am now kicking myself for letting that one get away.

i think the majority of us would have red butts for a good time to come. john edward got a nice red one on ebay a while back. i was watching it but didn't have that "watch this item on" so it got by me. i think he got it for about 65.oo. i remember thinking that someone got a really good buy and i was sleeping on the job. i got the blue one   a few months later. i was just browsing when i came across it several months ago. they weren't very specific but they did say it didn't run but it looked good. i thought it was just a belt and that was it. 2 days ago i took a belt out of a worn  wm-10 so i used it. i can't believe it went for somewhere in the mid 60's especially since it was clean with just some minor marks. thinking back,,i don't remember seeing a blue one ever. even john's red one i don't remember seeing. i appreciate that player a whole lot more now . the economy here is very slow in places so i have been watching the money closely till it picks up some. take care...george....

by the way somewhere about 6 months ago i got a grey velvet pouch. i can't remember which player it came with and i don't think it was mentioned with the player info. in the upper left hand corner it reads "sony" and that is it for any writing. anybody our there know which player this belongs with. it fits nicely over the wm-10 and any player about that size.........

I have a grey pouch like you described for a WM-EX909.  I also have that same pouch for an WM-EX1.

i'll bet it came with the top shelf players from that era as just a little something extra.
