Anybody heard of an Active Sound AD-999?

I actually pulled this thing out of a dumpster behind a big thriftstore in my hometown. Made friends with a lady there who can't stand the management's policy of junking vintage gear that "looks weird", and managed to get full dumpstering privileges. Out of all the weird-looking vintage audio stuff I've found, this thing's the weirdest. Still works pretty well, too.

Basically it's like an iPod dock from the eighties... there's a boombox-like enclosure with little speakers, and a place in the center for a portable cassette deck to fit. The dock is called the Active Sound AS-999, and the player is the AD-999. It even comes with one of those FM tuners in the form of a cassette.

I can't find any information about any line of products called Active Sound. Is there anybody out there who knows better than me? (Also, I've got more than enough audio gear, so I'd definitely be taking offers on this thing.)
