Sony's Intellectual Property lawyers must be really worried about that product.

Te screen is a bit lame, but the rest is okay

Are Aiwa still a going concern? They appeared to shut up shop a few years ago. Or has someone bought the rights to the name?

Will Sony even still protect a brand name they practically killed?

I remember in the early 2000's when Sony attempted to re-brand Aiwa as a

"Hip" "Trendy" "Youthful" brand. While the logo re-design was interesting it was

difficult to read for people not familiar with the brand.

The products were usually copies of/inferior to Sony's own, and the "youth" market they were aiming at never saw Aiwa as a reputable brand (its brand recognition was usually older people).

They may have ground the name truly into the dirt, but the logo, name and trademark are still Sony's.

What's in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.

Yes agree. They've even used the old logo. Aiwa swapped in out for the new squiggly one 10 years ago. So guys...fake? What do you reckon?

Totally agree

It's chinese, but the name is IAIWAI (iaiwai) not AIWA.

of course it was done on purpose - it looks like AIWA in brackets,
but I must say it was a brilliant idea to use a well known,
but ceased to use brand name, alter it in a such way that it looks the same, and is recognized well as the original yet still it sounds different (iaiwai). So the lawyers will have a lot of work to do, especially that AIWA never produced tablets, so they do not cover the same area of the market with product of a very simillar logo.
(i.e. you can name your food company APPLE, but you can't sell phones or computers under that name)
hats off
