Nothing too exciting compared to some of the stuff I have seen on here.

Still thought there might be something of interest.

That’s a really great collection you have there. You have machines that I would give my eye teeth for! (The boxed TPS-L2 in particular!) I like the way you have photographed them, along with other contemporary items. Nice topic, thanks for sharing.

Ooh yes, very nice indeed.  The TPS-L2 is quite a catch with all it's bits and pieces.  You've clearly got an eye for the eighties stuff.  This is a good mix of pretty ordinary items plus some quite nice ones, but I think you already know that, it's better than my first collection.  You're two WM-100-based units are very nice esp the 104 (is it?) these don't turn up very often.  You're DDii is very clean and looks to have survived quite well, these all have the dreaded click issue which can be quite a headache.  DD9 and D3 are nice too, the DD9 being a great favourite of ours.

Keep up the good work and welcome aboard

fantastic collection!

Great photo composition with the other 80's electronics. Is that a Motorola 8800 cell phone in the 6th pic?

Welcome to the group, don't sell your collection short, if they make you happy then that is all that is important.  Plus you have some Very nice pieces DD9 Been collecting myself for a year now and still do not have one of these to call my own.  And you have the HEADPHONES!!  Nice choice of Blank cassette TDK MA-XG my personal Fav.  Thanks for sharing!

Nice collection, the boxed tps-l2 is so cool! Nice to see a white demo tape. Never seen that one! Welcome here!

tekno23 - 2013-11-28 01:03

Thanks for the comments.

The WM100 based models are WM-F102 & WM-F103.  This is one of my favorite models as I had one in the 80's. Don't see many of them here in N.Z. My original one (long since lost) was brought back by a friend from Japan.

The Brick phone is a Motorola 9690 Think it was an Australian/NZ model.

I don't collect phones but liked this one. It has the original box as well.

The white demo tape from the TPS-L2 has  YMCA, Staying alive, El Bimbo & When will I see you again.  I was expecting it to be the James bond theme / Jet engine tape.

Maybe this version was an Australasia thing?.

Impressive collection!

For how long have you been collecting?

tekno23 - 2014-06-23 21:26

I started looking for a working tape Walkman about 2 years ago. I just wanted to listen to some old DJ mix tapes. First 4 or so Walkman all had bad belts poor wow & Flutter. But now I keep on buying them when they turn up locally, despite having a few good ones.

For such a young collection, you are doing quite well :-)

The TPS-L2 is one of the most coveted collectible units, especially when boxed. Some of your other units are also considered high end.

Good luck!
