hi there!

for so many years i have been telling my friends of my solar walkman that i had as a kid. people always thought i was confused about my stuff! growing up with a Japanese father provided me with all kinds of cool toys, this walkman was a favorite of mine.

looking to buy one, and now after doing research realizing how special and rare they are. any hope of one for sale? i have checked ebay with no luck.

any ideas or leads would be much appreciated!

Hello there welcome to our group. You certainly are correct the WM-F107 is very collectable being ONLY solar walkman made thus the price of these working in avg. condition go upwards of $100 to $700-1000 for NIB. Be careful as the rechargable battery in these almost always will not hold charge any longer or only power radio for short time. IT is soldered in place and is NOT easy change out and exact battery is not available. I have a white one that battery holds charge for about 45 mins to power radio only not enough to run cassette. Also if buy one make sure the screw on attachment AA battery holder is with it so cassette can run or radio. They have not been on ebay in few months but usually every few months if one shows up then in following few weeks 2 or 3 more will. As for one of the members selling out of collection there is possibility but it is unlikely. Certainly wish you luck and generally it is a higher quality sounding player for its time period.

hi there!

thanks for the reply, info and most importantly the welcome! i had a yellow one with the battery attachment.

i wish i would have kept my walkmans all this time. my father had also gifted me the very first Sony walkman that i recall with fond memories (prince purple rain never sounded so great). i never knew where he got these things, but i was always so grateful.

neither my husband or myself can believe that no one else has developed another solar device!hopefully i can find one some day that i can play my most precious tapes on for old times sake.
